Message from the Principal
Lacey Moser

Dear Hart Families,

On Tuesday, November 13 we welcome all our families to join students for our annual Thanksgiving lunch. The safety and security of the students and our building continue to be a priority.  We love events that bring in our families, but we also know it's important to ensure we know who is in the building for the safety of all students and staff.  Please help me in communicating to any family members who will be joining us for lunch to come early, bring their government issued ID, and check in with the front office.

One way to check in a little faster is to RSVP ahead of time to Heather Bouska at [email protected].  If you have come through the office this year, you only need to send your name.  If you have not had an opportunity to check in through the office this year, you can send a picture of your ID for manual entry.  Mrs. Bouska will then print out your sticker badge and have it ready for you when you arrive at the office. This should help speed up the process. The deadline to RSVP is Monday, November 12 at 12:00 pm (noon).

The special Thanksgiving lunch schedule is below. Adult lunch is $9.00 and a visiting child lunch is $5.00. Students of Lovejoy ISD lunch is $2.50. We hope to see you all on Tuesday!

With a Full HeART,
Lacey Moser

9th Annual Lovejoy ISD Fine Arts Festival - November 30th and December 1st

We are excited to invite you to a magical weekend of experiencing the incredible performing and rich visual arts programs in Lovejoy ISD.  Each elementary campus choir will perform Saturday from 10AM - 11:30AM and all elementary students will have visual art on display in the LHS auxiliary gym throughout the event.  We hope you will plan to see your child's art, attend the elementary choir performances and then stay to visit the SCIS, WSMS, and LHS performances and exhibits.  The festival is a wonderful opportunity to see where your child can participate as they move up to SCIS and beyond.

There are Fine Arts Festival volunteer opportunities available for our Lovejoy ISD elementary parents.  Please take a moment to read this  flyer to see if you can help.  If you have questions please contact  [email protected].

Flu Season Reminders/Illness:

We are now heading into flu season. The most common symptoms of flu seem to be stomach ache, cough, fever/body aches, headache, and tired-ness. Currently we are seeing a stomach virus (12-24 hour virus), some strep throat, a virus that seems to be lasting about 2-3 days, and a lot of allergy related symptoms due to the weather changes.

Frequent handwashing is vital to keeping illness at bay. Now is a good time to review proper handwashing practices with young children. Using soap and rubbing vigorously under running water for about 30 seconds to one minute is important to get rid of the germs that cause the flu and other viruses. Asking young children to "sing the ABCs" at a steady rate while washing will help them reach the 30 second mark.

Please remember, if your little ones have had diarrhea, fever greater than 100 (without medications), or vomiting they must be out of school for a full 24 hours so that we can help keep protect others.

If your child is absent from school, written documentation is needed. Please email [email protected] and [email protected] with the date and reason for the absence. Thanks for all you do at home to keep your children healthy and in school.

Project Thankful Pumpkins.png
Design Contest

Calling all artists! Hart is looking for Hart students to design the next set of Thankful cards for Project Thankful coming this November.  Project Thankful is an opportunity for Hart students, families, and staff members to send a card to tell someone that they are thankful for him or her.  All the money received will be used to adopt children through the Allen Community Outreach (ACO) Holiday Adoption Program,   www.acocares.org.  Last year we adopted 6 children! We would love to surpass last year.

Entry Requirements
Entries should focus on the theme of being thankful. Hart students may enter a black and white drawing on the form that was sent home. The panel will select two winners from each grade level. The winning drawings will be used as the design for the 2018 Thankful cards.
Forms can be picked up in the Counselor's office or front office.  Entries are due to Miss. McDaniel or Mrs. Scoville by Monday, November 12th at 8:00 am .   All entries should be placed in the box marked "Project Thankful" in the library.
Winners will be announced during announcements on Tuesday, November 13th .  Thank you for your participation! We can't wait to see what the Hart students come up with!
Thank you,
Miss. McDaniel and Mrs. Scoville

Circle of Partners

Lovejoy ISD is pleased to welcome Tutoring 101 to the Circle of Partners . Tutoring 101 and Lovejoy ISD have formed a revenue generating/sharing partnership to bring their services to Lovejoy families. Please see below for several offerings.

Private tutoring is available for students in grades K-12 in all subjects. Tutoring 101 recommends once a week tutoring for an hour to increase grades and learn subject matter more deeply. A once a week appointment usually results in an increase of one letter grade or more. Turn those C's into B's.

What is your SAT/ACT score? Want a better one? What do you need it to be?
Invest in a PSAT/SAT/ACT Prep program not just a class. Tutoring 101 helps high scorers get top scores, average students raise their scores and poor test takers achieve the scores colleges want. Tutoring 101 students have earned admissions and scholarships, and have saved thousands of tuition dollars every year.
  • Specialize in working with individual students and their specific needs
  • Day-of-test strategies
  • One-on-one/small groups
  • PSAT/SAT Classes: Tues or Thurs or Saturdays
  • ACT Prep Classes: Mon/Wed or Sat
  • One on One and Online Prep also available
