Lacey Moser
Dear Hart Families,

Our fourth graders are preparing to take their writing STAAR test on Tuesday, April 20. We all test best when we have had a great night's sleep and a filling breakfast. Please see Mr. Romero's message below for more detailed STAAR information.

We are nearing the end of the school year and that means fun is in the making! We will be having grade level award ceremonies in the gym. Parents will be invited to join in the celebrations. Please see below for a tentative schedule. More detailed information will be coming at a later date from your child's homeroom teacher. In addition to award ceremonies, we will have Field Day on May 21. Be on the lookout for several volunteer opportunities in the near future.

We will be asking for everyone to wear a mask while on campus and adhere to social distance guidelines.

It brings me so much joy to be able to do all these traditional end of year activities in person!

As always, please feel free to contact me.

With a Full HeART,
Lacey Moser

Notes from Nurse Wright
In addition to allergies, we are also seeing a stomach virus that is lasting up to 3-4 days. Not all kids are vomiting or having any fever. The predominant symptoms seem to be stomach cramping, diarrhea, and vomiting.

If your student has had a recent (with in the past year) vision or hearing exam, please email it to me at allison_wright@lovejoyisd.net and your student will be exempt this year from on campus screenings. A snapshot with your phone of the results works just fine as long as the information is legible.

Thank you for your understanding during this time!

Hart PTO
The Parent-Teacher Organizations in the Lovejoy Independent School District each will award one $500 scholarship to a college-bound senior graduating from Lovejoy High School in 2021. This centralized application means that each student completes the form ONCE, but is eligible for PTO scholarships through the Lovejoy schools they attended (plus the Lovejoy Council and Preschool PTO).
All student applicants (a) must have attended LHS during their sophomore, junior, and senior years; (b) belong to the LHS Parent-Teacher-Student Organization; (c) complete the online scholarship application, including the essays; (d) upload a resume; and (e) have one letters of recommendation submitted.
To begin the application process, students must complete a brief survey, located online at 2020-21 Scholarship INTENT TO APPLY. This survey, which requests their name and email address, indicates their intent to apply.
2020-21 Scholarship INTENT TO APPLY
Once the above Intent to Apply survey is received, we will send the student a link to the online scholarship application. This link will allow students exit and return to the application in case they cannot complete it in one sitting.
Please email Shannon Verschage at LJCouncilScholarship@gmail.com if you have any questions regarding this application.

Plans for 2021-2022 School Year
As we plan for the 2021-2022 school year, Lovejoy ISD will return to normal, pre-COVID operations.

For the 2021- 2022 school year:
  • Masks will not be required, but optional for those who choose to wear
  • All instruction will be face-to-face, LISD will not offer virtual learning
  • Secondary schedules will return to a traditional 8 period day

Please note that our plans to return to normal pre-COVID operations is based on current health conditions.

Changes may be required if guided differently by the Texas Education Agency (TEA), Governor’s Executive order, Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Collin County Health Department or the Department of Texas Health and Human Services hospitalization rates impact local guidance.
Adopt a 2021 Lovejoy Senior Community Project
Brooklyn Lloyd is a junior at LHS who is a part of the Varsity Volleyball Team, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), and PALS. For her senior project, she is doing an "Adopt a 2021 Lovejoy Senior" Facebook page where each senior posts a bio about them and a person in our community chooses to "adopt" and spoil them with gifts. As we all know, these seniors have gone through so much with COVID-19 and have missed out on a normal senior year. So, what better way than to show them love than with tangible gifts they can remember forever. As a community, we can make light of this unexpected situation by showering them with our Love and Joy! To be apart of this, you can join our Facebook group page “Adopt a 2021 LOVEJOY Senior” and adopt a senior you feel led to bless. Spread the word and let all the senior parents know about this so they can add their senior's bio so they can get adopted! Also, check it out if you would like to adopt any of the seniors so we don't leave any behind. However, if you do not have Facebook, no problem! Just contact Brooklyn Lloyd at lloyd_brooklyn@lovejoyisd.com and she can help you! Let's show these kids some LOVE!
