Congratulations to our Elementary Teacher of the Year, Sarah Moody! We are so proud of you and know you will represent us well in the next round at the regional level.

Dear Hart Families,

It is time to begin rounding up supplies for return to Hart!  Items which will need to be returned:

  • Library Books
  • Leveled Reading Books from Mrs. Ackerman
  • Leveled Readers from your child's teacher (book baggies)
  • Take Flight materials from Mrs. Topchik
  • Special Education borrowed devices/materials
  • iPads/MacBooks checked out from HES

Your teachers are packing up desk, cubby, and book box items to return to you at the same time. We have many items in Lost and Found! Click here to view items in Lost and Found. Let us know if you see something we need to grab to add to your belongings. All items will be donated after the last week of school.

Additionally, we will have class pictures and Art to Remember items to include in your student's bag. Unfortunately, yearbooks are delayed to COVID-19. We will make a plan to distribute them once they arrive. Please see the flyer below to order a yearbook!

I highly encourage you to come on your specific child's day.  Grade level teachers will be there to greet your students and to give one more "good bye". We know this will mean coming up on multiple days for those of you with siblings. If you'd like us to combine, let us know and we will make it happen.

The process: Parents will drive through the front parking lot. To minimize contact, we ask that you stay in your car. Staff will come by to collect all return materials (preferably from the trunk of your vehicle). Another staff member will drop student materials in either your front passenger seat or an open trunk area. Our staff will be wearing masks. In effort to reduce cross-contamination, we will not be wearing gloves, but rather sanitizing our hands between deliveries. You are welcome to have your windows down and safely say goodbye to our teachers and staff members as you pull through!

Parent Input Form for the 2020-2021 school year
Your child's current grade level teachers, along with GT teachers, special education teachers, Reading interventionist, Dyslexia teacher, counselor, principal, and assistant principal come together to create class lists for the next year. We use your input, along with your child's current classroom teacher and any other staff that may work with your child, to place your child in the teacher's classroom that would be the best fit. We also ensure that there is a balance of boys and girls and the make-up of the classroom (mix of students) creates the best environment conducive to teaching and learning. Please click here to complete the form.
Learning with your Librarian
Hello Parents!

I am excited to announce that there will be an opportunity for your child to listen to a story being read aloud by one of our K-6 librarians Monday through Friday at noon. We will be reading a picture book Monday through Thursday, then we will be sharing the first chapter of a picture book for First Chapter Friday. The Zoom link for our daily storytime will be sent out weekly through your student's SeeSaw or Google Classroom.

Monday - Mrs. Emory - Puster-  The Litte Red Fort
Tuesday - Mrs. Dawson - Lovejoy -  The Hair of Zoe Fleefenbacher Goes to School
Wednesday - Mrs. Hart - Hart -  Nobody Hugs a Cactus
Thursday. Mrs. Stewart - Sloan Creek -  Happy Dreamer
Friday - All librarians- First Chapter Friday -  Nightbooks

We also have been working on an amazing website that is now available as an extension opportunity! The Leap into Libraries website will provide books that are read aloud online with accompanying activities. Also on this site are MakerSpace activities with items that you have at home as well as author lead activities. I am linking the site below and it is also available on the Leap into Learning District site.

The K-6 Library Team and I are so very excited to provide these resources and read alouds for your students!

Happy Reading!

Notes from the Nurse

Hart Families,

As restrictions continue to lift and small groups begin gathering, it is important as we are socially connecting, to continue keeping a 6 foot physical distance when you are out and about. Please remember to wear cloth masks when you go to public places and ALWAYS wash your hands.

If you or a family member suspect that you may have COVID-19, the below links will guide you in assessing your symptoms and finding local testing centers.

Stay safe and well,
