Dear Hart Families,

What an exciting day at Hart Elementary! We celebrated the 100th day of school. I have never seen a more active bunch of senior citizens! We had a lot of unique learning experiences to help us all celebrate 100 amazing days of learning!

Tomorrow, we invite all staff and students to “Go Red!” with the district as we bring awareness to heart health.

As always, please feel free to contact me.

With a Full HeART,
Lacey Moser

NEW!!!! HeART Inspired
Ms. Laurence- Being the 2nd grade virtual teacher must have its daily challenges, but Mrs. Laurence has been such an amazing virtual teacher. She is able to quickly problem solve and keeps the kids engaged for the zoom times. She is so loving and really takes the time to work with them every day. Hart is so blessed to have her! A.C.

Ms. Grant- We feel extremely blessed our daughter has Ms. Grant for a teacher this year. She continues to go above and beyond each and every day for not only our daughter, but all her students...She has the biggest HeART. Our daughter has grown so much this year not only academically but socially and emotionally as well. We are so blessed our daughter has her for a teacher. We love you Ms. Grant! A.S.

Mrs. Topchik- Mrs Topchik has helped my son (and me) in so many ways! She compliments him often, is caring, sticks up for him & most of all has helped him gain his confidence! She is so easy to talk to & discuss his challenges & achievements. He has come a long way & I can’t thank her enough!! L.H.
NEW!!!! Queen/King of Hart
Let the fun begin!!! Hart Helpers began selling paper hearts today! Heart can be purchased in Hart cafeteria before school and during lunch. Heart sales will conclude on Thursday, February 11.

Students can purchase hearts for the teacher and/or staff member they would like to see crowned as King or Queen of Hart! Small hearts are sold for $1.00 each, medium hearts are sold for $5.00 each, and large hearts are sold for $10.00 each. Votes will correlate with the dollar amount of the heart purchased. $1.00 heart equals 1 vote, $5.00 heart equals 5 votes, and $10.00 heart equals 10 votes. The King or Queen of Hart will be announced prior to dismissal on Thursday, February 11.

Working with Weathermatic and Living Water International the funds raised will be used to build a well. The well will be dug in a community in Central America, India or Africa and will provide the citizens with clean water. This effort falls directly under the Lovejoy ISD Graduate Profile of Works for Justice in the Community.  The Lovejoy graduate has experienced the satisfaction of giving and service. She/He has learned through service projects to comprehend the abstract ideas of justice and community. The student has begun to appreciate the need to couple ethical thinking with ethical action. Ultimately, the Lovejoy graduate has learned to respond in love and service to those in need and now strives to move beyond self-interest in relationships with others.

Our goal last year was to raise $1000.00. We were struck by the overwhelming generosity of Hart students and families, we raised $ 3569.00!!!!

Please help support a great cause and crown a teacher/staff member King or Queen of Hart!!!
NEW!!!! Library News

What an exciting and week of new learning we had! Last week was LISD Annual Hour of Code.

In 4th grade, students went to the coding modules in Discovery Education. These can be accessed at home easily through Classlink in the Discovery app. In K-3 we used the free iOs app, CodeSpark.
Each student has this app on their school ipad. If your student brings theirs home, it should already be logged in and set up. If not, you will need to download the app to your iPad and add a class code. Students will have these coding resources available to work on occasionally in class during independent work.

If you are interested in seeing more of the coding sites, please click here.
Students have these resources added to their Library Seesaw or Library Google Classroom page.

Students in K-3 can continue the coding while at home with the free app or on a computer by visiting Codespark.com/play Log into the school icon and use the classroom code when prompted.

Please email Mrs. Hart (suzanne_hart@lovejoyisd.net) if you have any questions or would like the classroom code for your child's specific homeroom.
We know EVERY staff member can offer a HeART Inspired moment, though we may not always hear about it. Who are our unsung heroes? Has a Hart teacher or staff member inspired your child/family? We want to hear about it! Parents, community members, staff members and students are welcome to share by completing this form. We will recognize the teacher or staff member in future principal emails!

NEW!!! Art to Remember
NEW!!! HES Clinic News
Please remember to copy Nurse Alli on any illness related absence emails. If your student is absent due to not feeling well (any symptom listed on the Covid Symptom Exclusion Letter) you must provide a doctor return upon their return to school prior to the 10 day isolation period. Also please remember, if your student has a member of the household who is awaiting COVID-19 test results, or who is awaiting their own test results, those students must be kept home until you have the test results. Thank you!

We have seen a rise in strep throat along with allergies due to the recent mountain cedar rise and windy days we have experienced. There is also a stomach virus that seems to have surfaced as well. Predominant symptoms of this virus seem to be stomach ache, headache, and diarrhea. The symptoms seem to be lasting approximately 24 hours for most without fever.
