- All staff and families will continue to check their health status each morning and stay home if they are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, or have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, or there is someone in the household with a pending COVID-19 test.

- Students will continue to wash hands and use hand sanitizer throughout the day, specifically before and after lunch, after specials, and after recess.

- Desks, tables, and other surfaces will be sanitized throughout the day, specifically before/after use by multiple students.

- Students will wear masks entering and exiting the building, during all transition times, when leaving the classroom, and whenever social distancing cannot be practiced in the classroom, including partner/group work, social centers, center time, coming to the rug for instruction, and working at the teacher table. Staff and all 4th graders will wear their masks at all times and K-3 can have their masks off when working independently at their desks. 

- Classroom and high traffic/touch areas will be sanitized each night. 

- If there is a positive case on campus, all areas affected will be deep cleaned and sanitized.

Sarah Moody – My child was not making the best choices related to his behavior. Mrs. Moody created a behavior chart for him allowing him to earn rewards for good behavior. She genuinely wanted him to succeed. She did this even though it created more work for her. To me that is the true definition of a teacher who cares.

Alis Brantl - Mrs. Alis has been a key player in helping my child transition from virtual learning to in person learning successfully. She wasn’t afraid to approach him on his bad days and even came up with a way to make dropping him off easier for all of us. I can tell she went above and beyond spending time outside of working hours to come up with an idea encouraging him to walk into school by himself instead of me walking him in clinging to my leg crying. Thankfully her idea worked and he’s excited about school and wants to be dropped off in the carpool line. I can’t thank her enough for showing such compassion towards my child. She truly is his best buddy!

Jessica Ackerman - Mrs. Ackerman makes learning fun and meaningful. Our son’s writing has exploded this year with your help. And he is reading with more confidence than ever before. He is crushing his goals with your teaching and love.

What a crazy and unique school year this has been! We are asking you to "Show us your Hart" and design the cover of our 2020-2021 HES Yearbook. We would love for you to design what this school year means to you! Speak from YOUR heart about Hart! Grab your art supplies and an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper and to designing! Please, no digital designs. Art work can be turned in to the office no later than January 15, 2021. Please remember to put your name and grade on the back. All designs will be voted on by the HES Staff. The winner will be announced the week of January 18, 2021.
