Supporting One Another
Recently, over 120 Mount Auburn Hospital employees enjoyed lunch that was provided by our friends at Cambridge Trust . Roma Mayur, Dina Scianna and David Felton delivered sandwiches from Darwin's , Grendel's Den and Cuisine En Locale. They also donated 20 floral arrangements from Brattle Square Florist and Petali. These colorful bouquets have been distributed throughout the hospital spreading cheer to many patients and staff.
Remembering a Special Friend
This week marks one year since the passing of Dr. Ifeanyi Menkiti, beloved proprietor of Grolier Poetry Book Shop and founder of Grolier Poetry Press.
A poet and professor of philosophy at Wellesley College for more than forty years, Ifeanyi was a mentor and friend to a wide range of poets, locally, nationally and internationally. He is the author of four volumes of poetry. Ifeanyi became the third owner of the Grolier when he purchased the store from Louisa Solano in 2006. He owned it until his death in June 2019. During that time he expanded the store's international offerings and presided over dozens of wonderful poetry readings, discussions, and events.
We miss him dearly.
Ifeanyi's wife, Carol Menkiti, and family will continue to lead the Historic Grolier into the future.
