VSC Voice | October 2021

Fall is a time of reflection and gathering and planting. We harvest what we can and prepare our garden beds to nurture perennials into the next season. We plan ahead for winter knowing that in just a few weeks we will be spending more time indoors. As victim advocates, we know this change in season may not be a happy time for everyone. We know that some people are suffering behind closed doors from trauma caused by victimization and the effects of violence that impact wellbeing.

VSC is here to help survivors and their loved ones as they navigate the difficult times. We are available through our 24/7 crisis hotline at 888.521.0983 and via remote access for counseling and advocacy services.

This month marks the beginning of our annual appeal. Today, I am asking you to join us in being a source of support for survivors in our community, in your family, and friendship circles. Your gift will help survivors access the services they need to begin healing.

Here are a few other ways you can help:

Organize friends and loved ones to make a group gift to VSC.

Be an ally to survivors. Offer words of comfort and connect them to services.

Follow VSC on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and learn how to increase safety for people at risk. (We share helpful tips for survivors and their allies.)

Share our hotline number 888.521.0983 and website with your contacts.

Volunteer to support our mission.

Thank you for your help. Thank you for your kind words. Thank you for being there for survivors. Thank you for your support.
