Farewell and Godspeed
Nancy Belvin!
Nancy has announced that she’s concluding her work here on staff at the end of October. We’re thankful for all she has shared and we’ll say goodbye on October 20. To read a copy of Nancy's letter of farewell, click HERE . She'll still do some work for us on a contract basis from her new home near Blaine, but we will all miss seeing her here in the office and in worship.
Socktoberfest in October
We asked, they answered.
What do they need? Socks!
This year we’re working with other area churches and organizations to collect socks for Socktoberfest. Throughout the month of October, please bring NEW ADULT socks and place them in the container. Or, make a check out to OSLC and write Socktoberfest in the memo line. On 10/27, we’ll gather with others at 4pm to serve a hot meal and distribute socks and health kits to those in need at the Everett UCC on Rockefeller Ave. Questions or to volunteer, email Leasha Brown by clicking HERE .
Amazon Wish List for Children's Ministry
We are excited to bring forward a lot of really great things for kids on Sunday mornings at Our Savior's! We are needing to stock items to create toolkits for children who remain in worship, build a prayground in the sanctuary, replace old items in the nursery and the Littlest Lutherans Lookout, as well as build up our Godly Play space. To make this happen, we have put together an Amazon Wish List. Peruse the list and select items you’d like to purchase, and they will be sent directly to Our Savior’s! Your gifts will help us make church more accessible to children of all ages! Anything helps, and we thank you for supporting the children of Our Savior's Lutheran Church!

To shop, just click on the Amazon icon below.
Prayground:
(n) A place for religious children, primarily Christian, to experience their faith in distinct ways that engage all senses.
There’s new excitement over including young children in worship. The Children, Youth, and Family Ministry Committee has been working to set up a “ Prayground ” in the sanctuary. With soft surfaces, soft toys, and a location near the front, toddlers and young children with their parents can learn, grow, and make connections with other worshippers. Children are a vital part of the community and we’re glad for the commitment to provide a special and safe space for these youngest ones and their parents. Would you like to help? Check out the Amazon Wish List { link here } and consider contributing an item to bring the Prayground to life.

Thanks to Carol Edris who worked with Deb Squires to get the green banners ready to be hung. Thanks for all your hard work!
Holiday Food Baskets
Sign Up to Help
As we gear up for the Fall Season our thoughts turn to serving our neighbors in need. This year, as in previous years, we have pledged to sponsor 100 families.

So far, people in our community have signed up to provide food for 63 families!

This about the ways you can get involved. You may choose to ...
  • join with someone else to sponsor a family.
  • donate money for gift cards. This is important as grocery gift cards are provided for each family so they may purchase fresh food items.
  • volunteer by making phone calls.
  • bake cookies or wrap presents.
  • offer hospitality, shop, or check baskets.
  • beginning in October, donate food by placing it in the shopping cart.
  • donate money and let the basket committee do the shopping for you.

Fill out the form in the brochure and return it to the church.

Click HERE to view the brochure. Want to see the shopping lists for the year? Click on THANKSGIVING and CHRISTMAS . Copies of these forms will be available at the Holiday Food Baskets table in the Commons between services..

People are telling us that their OSLC Offering Envelopes came in the mail with a strange return address printed on the outside from Chicopee, MA.

Need Help with Wheelchair, Walkers and Scooters?
  • Look for the designated spaces reserved for wheelchairs and scooters on the level floor along the stained-glass walls.
  • We can bring Holy Communion to you if you'd rather not navigate the aisle.
  • We can help fold and park walkers between the pews and keep the aisles clear.

We want to make sure EveryOne can participate, feel included, see the screen, enjoy the company of family and friends in worship. The ushers can help guide you to these areas.
EveryOne is Welcome
Our Savior's is a Welcoming Community. We affirm with the apostle Paul that in Christ "there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female" -Galatians 3:28. Christ has made us one. We are committed to extending this welcome to EveryOne without regard to gender identity, sexual orientation, race, age, socio-economic status, disability, political association, marital status, education or ethnic origin. God's reconciling love in Christ is at work in EveryOne.
