Mazal Tov Class of 2018!
Excerpts from graduation speeches:

Sweetness of the Past: Yuval
I am so grateful for all of my experiences here at Yavneh, and I will hold onto the beautiful memories forever. I remember sitting in those lower school chairs, watching the 8th grade class getting ready to say goodbye to a place where they grew up. A place where they learned from others but were role models to me. Today, I am one of those 8th graders. I hope to have been a good role model to all of you, and that I truly made my mark. I am ready for my next adventure. For as Rabbi Nachman of Breslov teaches, "The whole world is a very narrow bridge and the most important thing is not to be afraid."
כל העולם כולו גשר צר מאוד, והעיקר - לא לפחד כלל

I am not yet ready to say goodbye to Yavneh, but I will say that I am ready to cross the next bridge without fear.

Illuminating the Journey Ahead: Aurora
But now, ..this is our last. Our last day here as Yavneh students, our last day being a class together, and the last part of of our Yavneh journey. Next year, we'll be at separate schools, part of a new class, and a new community, but no matter how far the world pushes us apart, there will always be an intrinsic thread that holds us together.  Yavneh community, teachers, and the class of 2018, ..thank you for being such a monumental part on my life. Thank you, for the memories we have created,... and thank you, most of all, for helping me find myself. I will soon walk off this stage towards the next step of this long and arduous journey beyond the tiny Yavneh bubble, and into the big, crazy world of high school and beyond, ready to tackle anything the future throws at me.

Hebrew Pearls פנינת הלשון
In this column, Yavneh's Hebrew Education consultant, Edna Aphek, talks about various Hebrew words that are related to summer break. In fact, the term used in Israel to refer to summer vacation, "Hofesh Gadol", literally means "Great Freedom". This term is used despite the existence of words for vacation (hufshah) and break (pagrah). What likely began as an error of speech between similar words (hofesh instead of hufshah), has become its own widely used idiom that is officially the term denoting the summer vacation  period. We hope your children enjoy their Great Freedom!  CLICK HERE TO READ

Check out Yavneh's first Hebrew blog post by students! The blog will be led by the very talented Rotem and Stav from Kitah Hay.
Students in Action
Middle School students put their creativity to good use during their weekly STEAM Innovation lab period. This is just a glimpse of the many projects they built and completed this year. Innovation lab encourages thinking outside the box, teamwork and perseverance. Enjoy!
The 4th and 5th grade Avodah (service to the school) elective are excited to share the path they designed and created for the school. We hope students will find many ways to use this rainbow stepping stone path to build community and have fun! CLICK HERE to watch the video.
Kitah Bet students connected all of their morning messages in Hebrew from this school year into a scroll.
