Dear Hastings Community,

As COVID-19 cases continue to rise, the Hastings Athletic and Physical Education Departments have decided to revisit our COVID-19 protocols and make some adjustments to our plan leading up to the Holiday recess.  These new protocols will go into effect starting today, December 20th and remain in place until further notice.  The goal is to provide a safe educational and athletic environment for all of our students, staff, and community members.  We will revisit our plans after the Holiday break.

Hastings Athletic Department COVID-19 Protocols:

  • Modified Sports have been “paused” until after the Holiday Recess. We will assess the situation on January 3rd.
  • Out of an abundance of caution in the COVID-19 climate, spectators of visiting teams are not permitted to attend contests on the Hastings-on-Hudson campus.
  • We will be limiting Spectator Capacity to four (4) Spectators per Hastings student-athlete per Home contest. Each Hastings’ student-athlete was provided with four (4) guest/spectator passes.  We will be checking passes/gate lists at the gymnasium entrance.
  •  Click here to watch sporting events: https://events.locallive.tv/school/hastings-hs
  • Everyone must wear appropriate face coverings at all times while INDOORS on our campus regardless of vaccination status.  No gators, bandanas, and/or vented face masks.  In the event that an individual finds the face-covering to be intolerable, they are to go to a socially distanced location for a mask break.  They can rejoin the activity once they are able to tolerate the face covering.
  • There will be no locker room access before, during, or after school until further notice.
  • There will be no concessions at Athletic Events until further notice.
  • Student-athletes and teams are expected to bring their own individual water bottles/supply. Please label your bottle with your name on it. Please do not share water bottles. The water foundations will be available as refilling stations.

Please remember we are all in this together.  The goal is to be able to continue to provide a quality, safe athletic program for our student-athletes so we ask that everyone continue to do their part and adhere to the revised COVID-19 protocols that help keep us healthy:

  • Stay home if you are not feeling well
  • Mask up at all times (especially indoors)
  • Wash and sanitize your hands frequently
  • Vaccination is a game-changer

On behalf of the Hastings Athletic Department, we want to wish you all a Healthy & Happy Holiday Season and New Year!  Please stay safe.  We look forward to seeing you all in 2022!
