Dear Hastings Community,

As I am sure you are all aware, the Health Office has been very busy dealing with managing the district-wide Covid cases we have been experiencing throughout the break. They have been tirelessly working to make sure our schools are safe and ready for in-person learning for our staff and students, as well as for our many extracurricular activities.

The Varsity and JV Interscholastic Athletic programs have been successfully plugging along throughout the break, while modified sports have been on hold since the week before the Holiday break. Our Varsity and JV programs will continue tomorrow with their season following all Covid protocols and mandates. In order to give the Health Office more time dealing with tomorrow’s school reopening, we have decided to continue the “pause” for all Modified Athletics until Wednesday, January 5th. This continued pause will hopefully lessen some of the workload for our health office ,while giving some additional time for any student-athletes who may need cardiac clearance upon returning to play.  Coaches will post their practices and games plans for the remainder of the week on their team’s SportYou page.

We will continue to monitor the situation for all our programs, including spectator policies, and adapt when needed to continue providing the safest, most rewarding athletic experience for everyone involved.  We would like to thank everyone for your continued support and patience as we navigate through these difficult times. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to the Athletic Office.

  Thank you.
