PFAS Update

Help us Secure Funding; Contact Local Legislators

The city continues to pursue funding to build three water treatment plants to remove PFAS and nitrates from city drinking water. The city has put forth a bonding bill proposal again this legislative session to help fund the cost of building the Eastern Water Treatment Plant, and we encourage residents and business owners to contact their local legislators Sen. Judy Seeberger and Rep. Tom Dippel to voice support for state funding to ease the burden of planned water rate increases. To date, the city has secured $23.3 million in outside funding for the three water treatment plants, which are expected to cost $70.3 million to build. Even with the current funding, water rates are expected to continue to increase.

Contact Judy Seeberger by email or phone at 651-297-8060.

Contact Rep. Tom Dippel by email or phone at 651-296-3135.
