County Rd 42 Plans and Feedback Update

Update and Comments on County Rd 42 Plan Presented

The City Council heard an update from County staff on the Highway 42 Corridor Improvements Project (Second Street W./Nininger Road (County Road 42) and had an opportunity to ask questions. The update followed a December 2025 open house, where residents were invited to comment on the proposed plan. Joe Morneau, senior project manager for Dakota County Transportation, reviewed concerns expressed through public comments, including vehicle speeds, impact to vegetation and pedestrian and traffic safety upgrades. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2027 and will be completed prior to the reconstruction of the Highway 61 corridor.
