The Hastings Family Aquatic Center officially opens for the season on Friday, June 10.

Purchase your Season Passes and Punch Cards at the Hastings Family Aquatic Center before the pool opens! To optimize a faster admission process for you when our pool opens on June 10, we will not be processing passes during open swim times, until June 20.

Thursday, June 9, 9:00 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Friday, June 10, 8:00 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Enjoy a parade of floats and people on foot starting from McNamara Stadium and ending at Jaycee Park with food trucks, vendors and more. All ages welcome.

HEDRA Board Member Appointed


The City Council approved the appointment of Ben Anderson to the Hastings Economic Development and Redevelopment Authority (HEDRA). Ben will serve the remaining term of outgoing Commissioner Martha Sullivan and serve until December 31, 2023. Citizen members may serve up to two consecutive six year terms. Thank you Commissioner Sullivan and welcome Commissioner Anderson.

National Night Out August 2


A National Night Out community event will be held on Tuesday, August 2 at Lions Park, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.  Public Safety Groups will also visit different neighborhoods between 5:30 and 8:00 p.m. Neighborhood organizers must register their group by July 15th for a public safety visit and public listing.

Welcome and Promotions


The City Council recently welcomed new employees Charlie Judge, Facilities Manager; and Shawn Shorey, Building Inspector. The Council also recognized the following employee promotions: Jamie Stevens, Firefighter/Fire Inspector; Robert Wargo, Paid On-Call Firefighter Lieutenant; Tim Likes, Paid On-Call Firefighter Lieutenant; and Jeremy Bickner, Paid On-Call Firefighter Lieutenant.

Heard a presentation by Pleasant Hill Library Branch Manager Julia Carlis.


Designated the 4th of July Parade as a special event to be held on July 4th, beginning at 6:30 p.m., on 15th Street, from west of General Sieben to Westview Drive. A fireworks display is planned for 10:00 p.m. at the Hastings Golf Club.


Authorized a Joint Powers Agreement (JPA) between the City of Hastings and the City of Cottage Grove to provide for reciprocal inspection coverage on public buildings and state licensed facilities.

Storytime in the Park is free & led by our Parks and Recreation Staff & Pleasant Hill Library staff. Each Storytime in the Park has a different theme.
