We are excited to announce auditions for our high school play, The Outsiders.
Based on a novel by S. E. Hinton, The Outsiders is about two weeks in the life of a 14-year-old boy. Ponyboy Curtis shares his struggles with right and wrong in a society in which he believes he is an outsider. It is a poignant story about the societal battle between two groups known as the Greasers & the Socs.
Auditions will be held Thursday, September 8 from 3:15-4:30 p.m. and Friday, September 9 from 3:15-5:00 p.m.
There are reference materials on the book, the play, the movie, and the characters. It will be beneficial to research a bit!
Students can select one of the following monologues/scenes for their initial audition. They may also choose one of their own. Please note that in our production, roles are not necessarily specific to the gender descriptions in the script.
