Redistricting Updates

The School Committee announced at their March 16 meeting that they have directed the redistricting consultant, Crocker GIS, to craft a third option based on feedback from the community. This new option is available on the Scituate Redistricting website.

There will be a public information meeting today, April 6 at 6:00 PM in the Gates Dining Commons to review the specific details of Option 3 and answer questions.

You may also submit your feedback on the options via this survey: Scituate, MA - 2025 Redistricting Study: Options I - III Feedback Survey.

Additionally, they anticipate that the consultant will make a final draft recommendation at the School Committee's meeting on April 27. They also anticipate voting as a committee to finalize a plan at their meeting on May 18.

Visit scituateredistricting.com for information about the process, to view redistricting options/maps, and to learn about upcoming meetings.

Staff Appreciation - Thank you!

A heartfelt thank you to all of the amazing volunteers who made this year's Soup & Salad Luncheon such a wonderful success! From the homemade soups and fresh salads to the delicious desserts, the spread was absolutely incredible. And a special shoutout to those who helped with set-up and clean-up to make it all come together.

Because of your generosity and hard work, the dedicated Hatherly staff got to sit back and enjoy a well-deserved meal. We are so grateful for this community - you make it all possible!

Enrichment Updates

The PTO has some exciting programs lined up for this spring, with more on the way!

Zoo New England will visit every classroom across several dates in April and May. Zoo educators will bring two "animal ambassadors," giving students the chance to see live animals up close while learning about them:

  • April 28 - Grade 4 & 5
  • May 6 - Grades K & 3
  • May 13 - Grades 1 & 2
  • May 20 - Grade 1

On Friday, May 1, author Brian Lies will visit grades 4 and 5 to lead his writing workshop, "The Worst Thing I Ever Ate." Brian is the author and illustrator of more than 30 children’s books, such as his New York Times bestselling bat series (Bats at the Beach, Bats at the Library, etc.), and his 2019 Caldecott Honor-winning The Rough Patch.

The PTO will also continue to fully fund field trips this spring. Keep an eye out for more details from your student's teacher as trips are planned!
