Shinnyo Lantern Floating Hawaii

The Shinnyo floating lantern festival is a beautiful event that brings people together to honor loved ones, celebrate life, and promote peace. Held annually, on Memorial Day, the festival centers around the act of releasing lanterns onto the water. Participants decorate lanterns with personal messages, memories, and prayers. As the sun sets, the lit lanterns are gently released onto the water. It is a serene and poignant experience that encourages reflection, remembrance, and a sense of unity among all who attend. Shinnyo Lantern Floating Hawaii is happening in person for the first time since 2019.
