Bone-chilling thrills abound on spooky fun-filled hayrides 5 to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday at Eaton Preserve. Scares keep you looking over your shoulder as the ride twists and turns. Register online to reserve your spot. Tickets are available for purchase onsite if spots are available.

Youth Athletic Classes

An abundance of youth athletic classes start the week of October 21. Options include:

• Soccer (3-8 years old)
• Parent-Tot Sports (2-3 years old)
• Super Sports (4-6 years old)
• Basketball (3-8 years old)
• Tiny Twisters Volleyball (6-8 years old)
• Volleyball Skills (8-12 years old)

Winter Indoor Soccer at Aux Sable

Registration is now open for the winter indoor soccer/futsal league running January 18 through March 8 at Aux Sable Middle School, 2001 Wildspring Parkway in Joliet. This league for grades K-5 teaches players the rules of the game, develops skills, teaches teamwork and good sportsmanship, and provides an opportunity for fun.

Youth Basketball

Registration is OPEN for our youth basketball league! Volunteer coaches introduce participants to the fundamentals of playing basketball through weekly practices and weekend games. The league emphasizes proper techniques, knowledge of the rules, team strategy, participation and fun. Enrollment in the winter is limited, so register early. Registration is done by grade. Register your child for the grade they are in for the current school year. Registration deadline is November 8.

4-Month Track Pass

Get your steps for only $10 a month! Four-month track pass memberships at the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center (PARC) are now on sale through November 10. The pass is $40 and valid for four months from day of purchase. Memberships grant access to the elevated indoor walking track and locker room. Purchase your pass at PARC.

Pints for Parks

Enjoy Werk Force Brewery's award-winning selection of beers along with a catered dinner from Happy Belly’s scratch kitchen at the Inaugural Pints for Parks set for 6 to 9 p.m., November 14. Proceeds from the event benefit the scholarship fund for the Friends of the Plainfield Park District Foundation, which assists the Park District in its mission of providing recreation opportunities for all residents. Included in admission are two drink tickets, a raffle ticket, and a catered dinner. Acoustic singer/song-writer Seth Mercer is the evening's entertainer, playing originals and cover songs that span from the 70's to today.
