Good morning, good afternoon, good evening-whenever and wherever God finds you today, MAY THE BLESSING OF THE LORD BE WITH AND UPON YOU AND YOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was BLESSED this past week to have a home cooked and EXCELLENT meal at a dear couple's home. I am sick and tired of eating out at overly expensive and understaffed restaurants and rarely cook for one, ME anymore.
As my kindly host was bringing the dinner plates to the table, he began to PRAY and in his PRAYER he quoted:
Psalm 90:12 (KJV)
12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
My spiritual ears were quickened as neither my hosts nor myself are “spring chickens” anymore.
CONFESSION-I have struggled mightily with depression this year.
I have enjoyed mostly good health for 69 years but 2021 has brought with it too rapid old age-what still works hurts!!!!
It is almost impossible to get away from the steady stream of “news” as increasingly our nation becomes a nation of “rules for thee but not for me.”
No longer is this once great country ruled “ of the people, by the people and for the people” as laws are being politically discharged and disobeyed and we now are governed by bureaucratic edict.
Enough said of that.

For many who follow this ministry, the days before us are less than they were yesterday.
NO ONE knows how many days one has left on planet earth.
While so many eyes are focused on one disease-COVID 19-there are many, many other ways to leave this life.
I read this past month of a woman who was awakened by a meteorite that crashed through her roof and landed on the pillow beside her........................
Truly we all are one heartbeat from eternity!!!
May I again insert one of my favorite quotes from a favorite book of mine:
“Most of us are where we are for a very good reason. This is OUR PLACE which has no one to hold it but our self and if we abandon it we abandon something in and of our self.”
Wherever YOU are you are in the right place!!! God placed you there for a reason!!!
Galatians 6:9 (KJV)
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Each of us must “hold the line!!!”
Ephesians 6:13 (KJV)
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Sometimes, perhaps often, all one can do is get out of bed and get dressed-
HAVING DONE ALL, TO STAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Make yourself exercise, make yourself eat, make yourself go to Church, make yourself PRAY!
Make yourself smile and make yourself step out into the the sunshine of this beautiful October weather.
NUMBER OUR DAYS as every day is the PRESENT!!!!
Call that friend, tell others how much you love them, eat that brownie with ice cream on top!!!!
Do not watch the Atlanta Braves!!!
Do not read the “news.”
Stay away from those who continually offend you and bring you down!!
I close with a phrase I heard at the last funeral I officiated. The other Pastor said this:
For those people whom we need not be around, say this to them:
“HAVE A GREAT DAY.... JUST NOT HERE!!!
