Pastor Trudy's Message

The Apostle Paul is arguing in synagogues in Greece and Turkey, where the majority of the people are Gentiles. In our scripture this week, he decides to shift his focus to the proclamation to the majority population. Unfortunately, this doesn't bring immediate harmony. It seems that the work of Gospel proclamation to the Gentiles will come with its own challenges.

God of wisdom, You are unity. You are harmony. Help us to remember that our primary interest is not in aligning with one another. Rather it is in aligning with You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Why did Paul's letters become such an important part of our scriptures? Who put him in charge?

• Give us the strength and conviction to proclaim and to model your sacrificial love and leadership in all we say and do.
• Unite us in our efforts to address pollution, climate change, and harmful practices throughout the world.
• Keep our elected officials at all levels focused on the things that truly matter, that they might aggressively work toward your reign of justice and equity for all people.
• Help us to see past our disagreements with one another, large and small, that we might be united in whatever work it is that you have called us to in our world.
• For victims of child abuse, as well as their caregivers and rescuers, may we be part of the solution as we support CASA Kane County and other organizations that work to end violence against children.
