THE PASSOVER HOLIDAY
RPOF Chairman Lenny Curry joins Dr. Jeffrey Feingold, Chairman of the RPOF Jewish Leadership Council, in observing the Jewish Holiday of Passover. Today Dr. Feingold released the following statement in regards to the holiday:
"As we look forward to a bright future for Florida and for the Republican Party we must remember the past and the struggles of our ancestors.
"Each year we celebrate the release of the Jewish people from the perils of bondage in Egypt and this year its especially important that we embrace that same spirit as we try to overcome the many challenges facing the people of our great state.
"The strength of the Jewish people has lived for thousands of years and will remain strong because of our tradition, faith and strong leadership.
"I am proud to work with Governor Scott and Chairman Curry who strive to protect our freedoms we so cherish and our interests of the Jewish Community. On behalf of Governor Scott, Chairman Curry, and the Republican Party of Florida I would like to wish everyone a happy and healthy pesach.
"May you all enjoy a safe and happy holiday with your family. 'Hag Sameach Pesach.'"

PRESIDENT RONALD REAGAN'S RADIO ADDRESS TO THE NATION ON THE OBSERVANCE OF
EASTER AND PASSOVER
4/2/1983
PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH'S EASTER MESSAGE
2001
I am pleased to send warm greetings to all those observing Easter. On this day, Christians around the world join in celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God and Son of Man.
For Christians everywhere, Easter is a day when, in the words of the ancient Exultet hymn, the earth "rejoices in shining splendor, radiant in the brightness of its King." It is a time to be humbled by and grateful for God's sacrifice and boundless love and to rejoice in the sheer wonder of life and the promise of victory over death.
Easter comes at the end of the Lenten season, a period of penitence and solemnity in many Christian traditions. The Lenten season prepares Christ' s followers for the joyous affirmation that "Christ is Risen!" Holy Week activities, including Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, and Good Friday, remind the faithful of the events leading up to Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection.
Many traditions associated with Easter have become a part of our American way of life. Although these customs may differ, the universal message of Easter draws all Christian communities together. As families and friends gather to celebrate, we renew our commitment to follow the example of Jesus Christ in loving our neighbors and giving of ourselves for others. On this joyous day, let us also remember all those in need and those Christians around the world who are persecuted for their faith.
Laura joins me in sending best wishes for a wonderful Easter.

PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH'S PASSOVER MESSAGE 2002
I send greetings to all Americans and to all people around the world who are observing Passover this week, which begins at sundown on March 27.
Passover marks a uniquely special time in the Jewish calendar, commemorating Judaism's foremost traditions of freedom, faith, and family.
In celebrating the Israelites' liberation from enslavement and their exodus from Egypt, Passover reminds Jews of their sacred tradition. It is a time for Jewish families to share together in long-established rituals and to offer prayers that celebrate the renewal of hope in the blessings of freedom.
The story of the Exodus speaks across the millennia. By God's power and blessing, the children of Abraham overcame Pharaoh's tyranny forty centuries ago and found freedom in the promised land.
Every year at Passover, Jews relive the experience of the Exodus and remember the miracles that provided them their path to freedom.
As we seek peace throughout the world, we are reminded that freedom is a precious gift. At this Passover, I hope that people of every faith will affirm that freedom is the right of all people. And as Jews observe this sacred time, I hope that your faith will be strengthened in the remembrance of your miraculous and living heritage.
Laura joins me in sending our best wishes for a blessed Passover.
GEORGE W. BUSH
