Letter from the President by Pilar Page

Dear patriot friends:
As we celebrate Holy Week ending in Easter on Sunday, we’ll experience how the darkness of the tomb is transformed into light, hope and new life.
That’s a message we can take into our lives today, as we deal with so many forces of darkness that threaten us at home and abroad.
President Trump doesn't just “manage” problems like so many of his predecessors – he tries to solve them. That sometimes entails risk, and the outcome of his actions cannot always be predicted. What’s happening now in Iran and at home disturbs many and causes anxiety. But one thing we do know: Without the strong attempt to change our nation's trajectory, America is finished, the world is a more dangerous place, and good cannot prevail. And we America First conservatives want good to prevail.
So as we celebrate this season, let’s remember that renewal doesn’t happen all at once – it requires sacrifice, faith and patience to let things unfold. God is in control, and He has his hand on our nation to succeed. Just as Easter brings new life, let's stand together behind President Trump to renew the promise of America.
May God bless you all,
Pilar

From our Chaplain by Nancy Manley

April 1 is the beginning of Passover. For Jews it is a very special holy day. And it should be for Christians as well, as it is the day Jesus was crucified.
As Christians, we believe that He was the final perfect spotless lamb of God who died for us that we might have access to the very throne of God through Him.
And three days later, he rose from the grave on the Feast of First Fruits. He is our Lord and our Redeemer. In spite of what we see happening in this world, He is in control. And we can trust him fully to do what He has promised!
May His love, mercy and grace abound in your life. And we particularly pray for God's protection for the men and women in our military who are in harm’s way, as well as for their families.

Legislative minute by Kay Wildt
The 2026 Legislative Agenda for the National Federation of Republican Women (and by extension, for MRW) is to:
- MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN
- MAKE AMERICA PROSPEROUS AGAIN
- MAKE FAMILIES STRONG AGAIN
- PASS THE KEEP NINE AMENDMENT (Keep the Supreme Court at nine members.)
President Trump laid out his "America First" agenda in his State of the Union speech and in his 225 Executive Orders to Federal agencies to implement his agenda and dismantle destructive policies from the Democrat administration. He is pulling America back from the edge of the catastrophe that was the last Administration. We came so close to losing our nation with open borders and enemy nationals of military age crossing unchecked. Now our borders are secure and that intentional crisis has ended. Our President is working as quickly as he can to undo the damage that Democrat policies did to our nation.
National Federation of Republican Women President Martha Jenkins set a goal to work with President Trump and the Congress to pass legislation to ensure that his Executive Orders will become law. America’s voters gave President Trump a mandate for change, and only through legislation can we achieve lasting change.

Update on early voting period in primaries
If you supported a candidate or helped to work the GOP greeter tent during the last primary election, you know how much of a strain it put on volunteers to have two full weeks of early voting before primary day.
The Moore County Board of Commissioners has heard you and adopted a resolution to change that. Their resolution was sent to the North Carolina General Assembly to reduce the early voting period to a total of seven days.
MRW will be encouraging other NCFRW clubs to contact their state legislators to do the same thing. This will give Senator Tom McInnis and Rep. Neal Jackson plenty of ammunition to co-sponsor the legislation when it is introduced.
Read the whole resolution here.

MRW and Sacred Heart team up for veterans
The Women of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church have a special project every year, initiated years ago by a member of MRW, Joan Ward. The church creates Easter baskets to be given to veterans in need. Because of MRW's long-time support and action related to military families, Sacred Heart reached out to MRW for help in delivering these baskets, which we have done for a number of years.
| |
Each basket weighs around 50 pounds - and this year, there were 63 of them! Always ready to help, MRW women and men delivered them to the Veterans Office in Carthage to be distributed to needy and/or elderly veterans as they come in for assistance.
We love our veterans and are proud to partner with Sacred Heart on this project!
