BabaNonna started in 2011 with the idea that they were going to specialize in Italian and Slovak specialties which reflect their family heritages - Tom, being that of Italian and Slovak descent, and Margo being Slovak. As children, they watched and participated in baking and cooking with their mothers and grandmothers.
Long before they started the company, they enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends that told them their food is so good, they should go into the business. And so they did...
As owners, Tom and Margo are passionate about their company and are hands-on in the full process from baking to packaging their products.

1.The recipe comes from Margo's Baba (grandmother). Margo is 100% Slovak and from the Coal Region of Pennsylvania.
2. Also known as Kolache (Slovak word), they're hand filled and hand rolled and made in small batches.

Raspberry Kiffles
Kiffles are an Eastern European pastry of dough rolled paper thin by hand and filled with assorted fillings. They are pronounced "kif-fulls". In the U.S., you can find them in parts of Pennsylvania. Kiffles are similar to Polish Kolacky or Czech Kolache (small, sweet yeast buns with fruit filling poked into its side) but use a different dough. Kiffle dough has cream cheese and butter in it. They're filled with different types of filling and then they're rolled up into a crescent shape, and baked. While they're still a bit warm, the kiffles are sprinkled with confectioners sugar.
