DALLAS RESPONDS
MIGRANT WELCOMING CENTER
at Oaklawn UMC in Dallas
We are called by God to do good and practice justice, kindness, and love. John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, held that loving and caring for our neighbors is a spiritual practice that is just as important as worship and prayer.
Respond to the border crisis by serving at the Welcoming Center for legally approved asylum seekers at Oaklawn UMC. Volunteers will help serve meals, distribute resources, and other misc needs of the day. English and Spanish speakers are needed to be Travel Assistants coordinating timelines for guests at airports & bus stations, and Travel Escorts to help guests get to airports and bus stations. Volunteer here.
