Attorney Melaney G. Hodge!
Attorney Melaney G. Hodge
Many of you may remember me as the intern from Melaney's Corner. After three years and many exams later, I am now the first associate at the Law Office of Susan Castleton Ryan, P.C. I am very excited to take on this new endeavor and am working closely with Attorney Ryan to ensure a smooth transition. I received my Bachelor's Degree in History from High Point University in 2009. Recently graduating magna cum laude from New England Law | Boston, I was sworn into the Massachusetts Bar on November 29, 2012. After my experiences as an intern, I am looking forward to providing a unique perspective for pending matters in the office, as well as taking on new clients.  Click Here to Read More

Famous Female Lawyers

March is Women's History month.  Throughout history women have devoted themselves to improving the lives of others, and many have chosen to do so through the legal profession. In pursuing their quest to become lawyers, women often had difficulty enrolling in law schools.  Most law schools denied women the opportunity for a legal education until the mid-twentieth century. Harvard Law School did not admit women until 1950.  In 1908 Portia Law School, now known as New England Law, offered a legal education to women of working class families.  Sensitive to the financial and family demands women faced, Portia offered part-time enrollment, enabling women to attain their dreams of being a lawyer. Click Here to Read More
