Running in the News
The Tucson journalism community celebrates running. Check out two new articles featuring the Run Tucson and SAR running communities.

We were asked to write an article for Tucson Lifestyle Magazine, offering advice on running solo in the age of COVID. Check out the awesome jumping photo of SAR President Lauren Erdelyi and see what the Running Shop's Sharon Bart has to say about running during the pandemic.

Meanwhile, local runner David Abbot featured Run Tucson in his piece for Tucson Weekly and Tucson Local Media publications. The article also highlights Dave Armet's Saturday morning ParkRun events at Himmel Park.

Speaking of free, check out Meet Me at Maynard's for the schedule of free walk/runs, still virtual but still going strong. Brought to you by TMC, HealthOnTucson, and El Rio.

Speaking of health care, we really want to hold our in-person events that celebrate running, so we urge all runners and walkers to wear face coverings when exercising near others -- bring a buff and pull it up when passing or being passed; keep your distance; don't go out when sick; and wash your hands thoroughly after exercising.

For more local public health info, see www.tmcaz.com/covid19.

Let's stay the course so we can get back together as soon as possible.

NEXT UP FROM RUN TUCSON
TMC Trail Challenge, February 21 - March 7
Two-Week Virtual Trail Challenge -- Hit the Trails, Win a Prize!
We can't produce one of our favorite races, the in-person TMC Sunrise at Old Tucson -- so instead we're celebrating the great outdoors with this first-ever TMC Trail Challenge!

Starting on Sunday, February 21- March 7, you'll be challenged to run or walk on as many trails as you can. There will be awards for the most miles, the most minutes, and the most trails visited, as well as other fun awards, like the most critters observed, best trail photo, and most inspirational trail runner.

GOODIES YOU GET
At the end of the challenge, every participant will receive a flashy pair of TMC Trail Challenge crew socks, a race sticker, and a souvenir race number. Registrants eligible for raffle and other prizes from The Running Shop.

WHO
Everyone can participate -- all ages, all abilities, all those comfortable on trails, and all those new to trails. Come one, come all!

Join the Family Challenge -- we want children to get off their screens and get outside in nature, so for families of three or more, all family members receive a discounted price and all the race goodies.

COMING SOON
We're putting together trail videos and interviews with local trail runners -- thanks to Georgia, Tia, and the Damion Alexander Team for helping . . . more soon!

TMC Meet Me Downtown 5k Night Run and Walk + Festival of Miles

This is a great way to kick off the summer and keep the party vibe alive! This is the first-race of the three-race Gabe Zimmerman Triple Crown -- so if you're not up for all three races, you can kick start your summer with this event.
