This Sunday at CSLNOCO
God is a word that often triggers strong feelings for people. For some, it generates positive feelings and for others, it is the exact opposite, especially if you grew up with a condemning and judgmental God. Rev. Lea will share the truth of who God really is and the freedom, love, and joy that is possible when we begin to shift our perception and create a new relationship with the divine.
Children and Youth each Sunday in-person

JANUARY 2023
This month is focused on our basic principles and foundational teachings based on the work of our founder, Dr. Ernest Holmes.
UPCOMING SERVICES
Prayer is an amazing tool for transformation. We use prayer in a very conscious and specific way in our teaching. Praying for ourselves, for others, and letting ourselves be lifted in prayer activates the Creative Process on our behalf.
Rev. Dr. Michelle Medrano has been a career minister. She received her ministerial degree at the School of Ministry at Mile Hi Church in 1991. The Huntington Beach Church of Religious Science hired her as an Assistant Minister, where she served for 4 years. Then she was blessed to serve as Senior Minister of New Vision Center for 17 years. In 2013, she was invited back to Mile Hi to serve as an Associate Minister. In the Spring of 2019, she joined Rev. Joshua Reeves as the Co-Lead Minister of Mile Hi Church. Dr. Michelle brings her many years of experience in a successful ministry and her years of powerful service in our International Denomination to support her “home” church.
FOOD FOR NEW-THOUGHT
FUNDRAISERS
Each LAST SUNDAY of the month our Food for New-Thought fundraiser dinner is hosted by our youth. In January, the Youth will be making and serving breakfast for dinner following the services on the 29th. Please purchase your tickets early.
Join the Dauenhauer family at their home for a wonderful homemade Thai dinner on 1/14! This is a time to gather and connect in a small intimate setting. Only 4 spots left! Ticket sales will go to support CSL NOCO.

EVENTS & CLASSES
Foundations of the Science of Mind – Facilitated by Rev. Lea Alvarado

Deadline to register is January 9th!

Dates: Thursdays, January 12 – March 16, 6-9 pm.
Location: in-person at Unitarian Universalist Church
Cost: $45

This class is a rich introduction to the Spiritual Principles and the complementary spiritual practices of our teachings. The main objective in this course is to provide a safe and fun place to embrace practical spirituality for everyday living. Included are the classic writings of Ernest Holmes plus the insight and wisdom of historical and modern metaphysicians.

A new spiritual principle will be presented each week, as well as a spiritual practice to support that principle. The Creative Process will be introduced at the beginning of the class and then flows through each week, so that the student has the opportunity to see and use the Creative Process at work in each spiritual principle.
Rev. Lea has been in her role as the senior minister for 5 months. The Listening Tour is designed to provide her with important information about the needs and desires of the congregation, as well as feedback as to what CSLNOCO is doing right and what could be improved. Look for an email from her setting up a time to meet! Meetings can be in person or via zoom.

CSLNOCO OUTREACH
Jan. Outreach: Nestled in the NICU
Nestled in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) is a program established to give support and provide care packages for families with infants staying in NICUs. It has evolved and grown over time to become a community of support for families across all of Colorado.
Care packages include many items such as toiletries, books, swaddles/blankets, journals, fidgets/stress relievers, cozy socks, etc., and items that help support the moms and families during this challenging time. They are currently in the midst of growing their programming by launching an app for family support in connection with the University of Chicago as well as establishing a music therapy program at NCMC to pilot.

Additionally, they have helped the Boulder fire evacuees in the NICU, provide holiday care packages and dinner for the staff as well as other opportunities over the year.
In addition to giving a percentage of our January tithes to the organization we are encouraging supporting them through their wishlist which can be accessed by clicking the button below.

Thank you in advance for your love and support of this wonderful organization and of the families who will be forever touched by your generosity.
