This course will be led by Dr. Julie Enszer, Instructional Assistant Professor of Gender Studies, and Dr. Elizabeth Venell, Instructional Assistant Professor of Gender Studies.

Tour and then compare several casino operations including The Venetian and Palazzo, The Cosmopolitan, and Mirage. Meet and interact with industry leaders to develop an appreciation for the professionalism and prestige the Las Vegas hotel industry holds on a global scale. This course will be led by Dr. Jim Taylor, Associate Professor of Nutrition and Hospitality Management.

Spend 5 days in the nation’s capital learning about applied politics as it relates to political campaigns and elections. Visit campaign operatives and meet with Democratic and Republican consultants. This course will be led by Dr. Jonathan Klingler, Assistant Professor of Political Science.

Develop an understanding of current topics in health care ethics, including beginning-of-life and end-of-life medical decisions, the allocation of health care resources, the patient/doctor relationship, and other critical issues. Recognize the primary principles in ethical decision-making in health care. This course will be led by Dr. Neil Manson, Professor of Philosophy.
