HAMILTON DREAM COME TRUE FOR HEARING-IMPAIRED FAN
|
After progressive and debilitating hearing loss, young Rachel Silva, then 7, received a cochlear implant at Oakland's
UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital
that restored her hearing. Rachel sported
a positive attitude at every step. Now 10 and a gleefully obsessed fan of
Hamilton
, her wish was to see and hear a live performance of the mega-hit musical.
With a GoFundMe campaign, friends and medical staff raised enough money for Rachel and her father, Michael, to attend a San Francisco performance where Rachel
heard
her dream come true!
