Today is National Census Day...have you been counted?
|
By April 1, National Census Day, you should have received mail from the U.S. Census Bureau.
As soon as you do, you can fill out your survey on your home computer by visiting
my2020census.gov to get started. Please be prepared to complete the census in one sitting, as the system does not allow you to save your progress. It only takes a few minutes to complete.
See the questions the Census will ask.
If you prefer to submit your response by mail, reminders and paper copies of the census form will be mailed to L.A. County households between April 8 and 16.
Households that still have not completed their census form by mid April will receive final reminder postcards by the end of April. After that, phone calls or other contact from the Census Bureau will begin in May and continue through July to be sure everyone is counted.
The final deadline to submit your household’s census survey is July 31.

Help for seniors and other vulnerable residents
|
Seniors and other residents who are housebound, disabled or otherwise isolated may need some extra help during this difficult time.
Here are some Lakewood resources for meal delivery, transportation and special shopping hours:
Human Services Association (HSA) is accepting new clients. Although the Weingart Senior Center and Burns Community Center are closed, HSA clients (seniors age 60+) will receive frozen meals, packed and available for drive-up pickup at Weingart Senior Center. To enroll, call the Weingart Senior Center at 562-630-6141.
Lakewood Meals on Wheels. Each day, volunteers deliver well-balanced nourishing meals of a hot lunch and a “cold” sack dinner to registered clients. The $8 daily fee is billed monthly, but low-income clients can call to discuss payment options. Call 562-925-8747 to begin receiving meals or for more information.
