National centre for family and whānau violence research and information
Pānui | Newsletter - Issue 105 - Aug/Sep 2021
Kia ora!

A lot can change in a short space of time, as this latest pānui finds us back in the midst of a community outbreak of COVID 19 in Aotearoa. There is a clear consensus that people are finding this latest lockdown more challenging than those we have endured previously, and for those of you who are in Tāmaki Makaurau and still in Alert Level 3, it has been particularly difficult. There is a great saying circulating on social media at the moment reminding us that:

At this moment, you are not just “working from home.” You are “at your home, during a crisis, trying to work.”

As well as caring for our whānau, our neighbours and our colleagues, making sure that we are kind to ourselves at this time is also vitally important.

In spite of COVID, there is a lot of work continuing across various sectors that has the potential to impact on outcomes related to family violence and sexual violence. Check out our News stories below for how you can have your say.

Whichever COVID Alert Level you are in we hope you are keeping safe and warm.

Ngā mihi nui ki a koe,
