You are invited to join District 65 coaches to learn more about Restorative Practices in District 65. The session will take place in the Haven library on Tuesday, March 10 from 7-8:30pm. Spanish interpretation and childcare will be provided. Restorative Practice Coaches will share the philosophy behind RP and provide a general overview that addresses the differences in view and practice compared to a more traditional form of discipline. In addition, coaches will discuss basic RP concepts related to classroom usage, resolving difficulties between students or students and teachers, and possible uses by school administrators. There will also be time for questions!

Each month the Haven parents bring breakfast treats for the Haven staff. Please help us show our appreciation of the staff's hard work and dedication to our children. This month's staff treat day is Wednesday, March 25, and we need families to sign up to bring breakfast treats to the staff lounge. Please click

Please join us for the Just Eat Itfilm screening which takes place on Sunday, March 22 from 2-4 PM at the Evanston Public Library (main branch). The event (co-hosted by Citizens' Greener Evanston as a community partner) is family friendly. We'll watch an engaging documentary (best for kids upper elementary and older) about a couple who chooses to challenge themselves to eat only discarded food to learn more about the food waste problem in the U.S. It will be followed by an optional 30 minute question and answer session.
Registration is now open for the 16th Annual Justin Wynn Leadership Academy 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament! This fun community event, to be held on March 15 at ETHS, is co-ed and open to players of all abilities from 3rd to 8th grade. Along with the co-ed tournament there will also be a girls' tournament (newly added in 2020!).
The 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament honors the legacy of Justin Wynn, a young leader who died at the age of 9. This year, a portion of the proceeds from the tournament will go to Rainbows for All Children, an organization that supports youth dealing with grief and loss.
