Welcome to Fisher's ACE Hardware
|
HPED welcomes Fisher's Ace Hardware which moved to the Manoa Shopping Center this fall. The store was previously located in the Drexeline Shopping Center, but needed to move since the center is being redeveloped. Store Manager Rob Marone reports that he is excited to have found this new location, as 60% of their customers were from Havertown.
Rob grew up in Springfield and has been working for Fisher's Ace Hardware for 25 years. "I really enjoy the hands-on work and the customer interaction with my job," Rob explains. "Ace is a great company to work for and I think we separate ourselves from the box stores with our exceptional customer service and family-like atmosphere."
In addition to tools and hardware, they have a full-service paint department and a large selection of Weber and Big Green Egg grills. They cut keys and glass, repair screens and windows, and are a destination for holiday decorations.
"We are also looking forward to hosting special holiday grill demonstrations on Memorial Day, Father's Day, July 4th, etc." reveals Rob. Check out their store hours, special events and sales at

Free Storm Water Planters or Rain Gardens for Haverford Businesses
|
|
|
Haverford businesses can request a free storm water flow through planter if they have downspouts in a visible, paved location on their business property or rain gardens if they have a suitable location. A limited number of planters will be available to good locations under a pilot program funded by the Haverford Township Civic Council. Check your downspouts and request more information or a planter by emailing
havaraingarden@gmail.com
with the subject “Storm water Planter” or “Rain Garden” if requesting a rain garden.
What Are They?
Rain Gardens are beautiful landscaped areas built down, instead of up, intercepting runoff from buildings, driveways and other impervious surfaces before it can reach the storm sewers and streams. Small gardens are typically 6-12 inches deep and drain within a day or two after a rain. Plants are water and drought tolerant and need little or no watering after they are established. Find more information at
www.facebook.com/HaverfordRainGardens
. Storm water planters are designed to filter and detain water from downspouts watering a beautiful array of water and drought tolerant plants.
