Sign up Now for a Booth at HPED's Haverford Home & Garden Show

The inaugural Haverford Home & Garden Show, held at Haverford Reserve on Sunday, April 15th from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm will be a way to connect local businesses and residents at a fun community event, as well as to raise funds for the work of HPED. The show will allow us to serve a unique and significant sector of Haverford Township Businesses. We know residents want to support local businesses, and we want to provide an opportunity for customers and businesses to connect face-to-face.  HPED’s Home & Garden Show Committee will be working to create a show with a variety of vendor and marketplace booths that fit the theme of the show. We have already started receiving applications for booth space, and we will limit the number of each type of vendor at the show to ensure a wide range of products and services at the show. Requests for booth space will be reviewed and granted by the committee.  HPED business members will receive a discount on booth space, and there is an early bird discount for applications received before 12/31. Vendor spots will first be offered Haverford Township businesses, but we will offer booth space to other regional businesses after December 1st. The Show will include a variety of vendors such as general contractors, plumbers, electricians, roofers, painters, lawn care providers, architects, interior designers, realtors, financial services such as banks, insurance companies, phone and internet services, and businesses that sell home improvement, gardening or landscaping products. There will be a marketplace where vendors can sell home and garden items such as garden tools, bird houses and bird feeders, fine art, plants, pillows and table linens, candles, antiques and gift items. Throughout the day, a variety of presentations and classes will be scheduled on topics such as curb appeal, downsizing, container gardening, interior decorating, historic preservation, and green-friendly remodeling. Make & Take workshops will be offered for visitors who want a hands-on experience. Projects might include creating a terrarium, rewiring a lamp, making a wreath, canning or grilling techniques, or making a painting to take home.   For information on show sponsorship and vendor opportunities, check out our Sponsor/Vendor Application or contact HPED’s Business Development Manager Jeanne Angell at jangell@hped.org.

Third Planter installed on Darby Road Median

The third of four planters planned for Darby Road was installed and planted last week. The fourth planter will be built in the next month or two. Thanks to our volunteers Gina Ranieri, Mario Oliva, Jessica Brasch and Mark Anderson who helped on the planting day.

Help Needed with Winter Greens Can you spare a couple of hours to add winter greens and decorations to the planters around town? We'll be organizing a few volunteer work days in late November/early December to "Spruce up" the planters in Edgewood, Llanerch, Manoa and Oakmont.
