Welcome to the new Kelly Music Center!
 HPED would like to welcome the Kelly Center for Music Arts and Community to Haverford Township. Tom Kelly, the founder of Kelly Music for Life opened The Kelly Center, at 4 East Eagle Road, as a welcoming venue for musicians and all residents. They began a soft opening earlier this summer with a few concerts and events and will have a grand opening in September. 

Welcome to the New Avenue Cafe!
HPED would like to welcome the New Avenue Cafe to Haverford Township! The cafe is part of the New Avenue Foundation, and is managed by Jim Wurster, one of the co-founders. The cafe resides inside of The Kelly Center at 4 East Eagle Road and is set to have a grand opening in September. 
LOCAL VENTURES CLUB
HPED is excited to announce a new club for those looking to get out and discover all that Haverford has to offer. As part of our Shop Local campaign, Local Ventures will plan an array of fun and interesting group outings in conjunction with Haverford Township businesses. The club will operate in the same way as our popular First Wednesday Dining Club, with specific outings emailed to the group, and the opportunity to sign up to participate. You can join us for one event or all of them! The inaugural event will be on Sunday, Sept 22nd at 9:00am and will include a guided Bird Walk at the Merry Place Trail (599 Glendale Rd) sponsored the new Wild Birds Unlimited store in the Manoa Shopping Center, followed by coffee and pastries at the store, with a special discount towards any purchase. Come check out their wide range of inventory, from bird feeders and houses, bird baths, bird seed and bird-related gift items! Images of Delaware County Exhibit
HPED has partnered with the Haverford Guild of Craftsmen to host an art exhibit Images of Delaware County during Delco Arts Weeks at the Oakmont Roots Cafe. The show will feature paintings and photography that depict scenes in Delaware County and will be shown from September 8-29th. Delco Arts Week is sponsored by Delaware County Arts Consortium (DCAC), a collaborative of cultural groups working to advance the economic vitality of the nonprofit arts and culture community and promote the value of cultural resources to the local community.

Standing Ovation Award
Help us select our 2019 Standing Ovation Award recipient. This award is presented to a business of the highest standards, offering exceptional customer service, an attractive, welcoming environment, and engagement in the community life of Haverford Township. Our awards will be given out at our Annual Meeting on October 22. All community members may to nominate up to three Haverford Township businesses. Winner selected by popular vote. Nominate your favorite coffee shop, your local dentist, mechanic or any first-rate business that you feel really enhances life in Haverford Township. Businesses who have won are not eligible to win again for 3 years. Previous winners include Kettle and Brick & Brew. Email Amy at asweeney@hped.org with your three nominations by Sept 15th.
