SUNBELT AG EXPO FIELD DAY
CUTTING-EDGE RESEARCH FOR FARMERS
"Research, innovation and education" -- three words that describe what
farmers will find at the
Sunbelt Ag Expo Field Day. The annual
half-day educational event will be held
July 14 in
Moultrie and is free and open to those involved in
agriculture and
agribusiness.
Touring the Darrell Williams Research Farm on covered trams, farmers and agribusiness representatives can see plots which showcase the latest cutting-
edge research in the growing stages.
Industry representatives and university researchers from the University of Georgia's Tifton campus will give up-to-date information on topics such as new seed varieties, irrigation, crop protection, soil fertility, forages and precision agriculture.
Field Day is also an opportunity to get a first-hand look at what folks will see harvested at the 39th Annual Sunbelt Ag Expo on Oct. 18-20.
The Expo's industry and university partners conduct agronomic research that address the real challenges that farmers face through the planting, growing and harvesting season.
Field Day research is done in collaboration with farmers, industry and universities in order to determine the best methods economically, environmentally and socially to address farming challenges.
In addition to the field tours, there will be exhibits from equipment manufacturers and industry partners.
Registration and static exhibits open at
7:15 a.m.
