Hawaii Update!
Laura and Reagan returned home from serving in Hawaii last week after being gone for 12 days. Not sure who was more excited for them to be home...the two of them, or Nate!
A team of 63 from Chicago served the first week in Hawaii. Their group was split up into 5 teams with each team serving at a different site throughout the week. Some of their projects included deep cleaning and painting a church that is just now re-opening for the first time since before Covid, cleaning, painting, and organizing a church's thrift store, helping a disabled foster mother from the community get her home in order in preparation for her husband to come home from a nursing home, and a couple more!

Laura's main role was to prepare meals for the team, oversee the church thrift store project, and run various errands that needed to be done throughout the week. Reagan spent her time looking after the Trip Leader's 4 children so that their mother could focus on leading the trip.

The team that came to serve the second week was a team of 43 from Indiana. Their main focus of ministry was to reach out to the vast houseless population that was on the "other side" of the island. It was heavy to see so many miles of beautiful beaches filled with makeshift homes for those who had nowhere else to live.

Laura and Reagan will never again think of Hawaii as just a vacation hot spot so many people like to visit - there is a completely different demographic who need the hope and love of Jesus as much as the rest of us do. It was an eye-opening experience and one that they will remember for a lifetime!
Reagan is Off to Honduras!
July 4-11 Reagan will serve in Honduras with other youth from City Hope Church, the church our family attends. They will be working at the Honduras Dream Center there, along with our sister church, City Hope Honduras doing outreaches, projects, and relational ministry.

This trip will be the first mission trip that Reagan goes on without any family members. We are excited for her and expectant to hear how the Lord uses her and the youth team to expand the Kingdom of God!

Please keep Reagan and the youth team in your prayers!
June Family Update
Reagan, Abigail, and Malachi attended teen camp with our home church at the beginning of June. They had an amazing time and were talking about going next year the day they returned home!

The following week, Isaiah went to his first overnight kid's camp with our church. We were all a little nervous for him to be apart from Mom and Dad for a few nights, but he did great and loved it! He too is already talking about returning next year. We are so grateful for the youth and kid's ministries at our church and the intentionality they have to point our children to Jesus.

We have taken a few trips to the library to stock up on books for the summer and often find at least one or two of the kids with their noses in a book, it's a beautiful thing!

Summer break also means more time for hanging out with friends, going to the movies, the beach, getting sweet summer treats, and exploring our area.

In the midst of all of the fun, we are still walking through a season with some unknowns and desperately need wisdom from the Lord as we seek answers. The lyrics from the song "Firm Foundation" ring very true for us right now...
"I've still got joy in chaos, I've got peace that makes no sense, I won't be going under, I'm not held by my own strength, 'Cause I've built my life on Jesus, He's never let me down, He's faithful through every season, so why would He fail now? He won't!"
