He is pictured with the Vicar, the Rev. Canon Irene Igmalis Maliaman (far right) and at center, the Rev. Deacon Lisa Pang, along with church acolytes. Nine were confirmed during the service. The Third Sunday of Advent
Stir up your power, O Lord, and with great might come among us; and, because we are sorely hindered by our sins, let your bountiful grace and mercy speedily help and deliver us; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory, now and for ever. Amen.

Our Brothers and Sisters in Guam & Saipan | From December 1 - 9, Bishop Bob spent time with the people of Guam. Although he has been serving as the Bishop-in-Charge of the Episcopal Church in Micronesia (that included Guam and Saipan), and made regular visits, this particular visitation was very special. Now, officially a part of the Diocese of Hawai'i, there was much to celebrate. Along with confirming nine people (pictured above), he also visited with the students and faculty of St. John's Episcopal School. In Saipan, St. Paul's Episcopal Church is part of St. John the Divine's mission. Look for more photos and videos about these blessed places in an upcoming Chronicle issue. (Contributed photos)

Education for Ministry (EfM): New Coordinator for Diocese
Education for Ministry (EfM), a four-year program for lay persons to help them "more fully engage their baptismal journey in daily life" is alive in the Diocese. The Rev. Christopher Golding has been named as the Diocese's Coordinator for EfM. Golding, who has been the Chaplain at Seabury Hall for the past four years, and a member of EfM since 2018, is getting ready to relaunch EfM on Maui. Although the pandemic affected some of the active programs in the Diocese, St. Jude's Episcopal Church in Ocean View (Hawai'i Island) recently graduated two persons.
We are currently updating the EfM webpage on the Diocesan website, and would like all churches with active programs, to send their info and mentor contact information to Golding HERE and also to the Diocesan Communications Specialist HERE.

Mahalo to all who donated to the Holy Nativity Thanksgiving Food Drive. As you can see from the photo, many donations were given across our campus: school, church, and thrift shop. Thank you to the student leadership council and to all who donated. The food bank came to pick up many boxes and bags on the day before Thanksgiving. We are so grateful to have such a generous Holy Nativity ʻohana! (From the Holy Nativity e-news)

Rescuing Kukui Keiki at Holy Apostles
When a senior housing development next to the Holy Apostles parking lot in Hilo broke ground in 2022, they razed the beautiful kukui grove that flourished just beyond the parking lot property line. Senior Warden Evette Tampos & wife Catherine McPherson-Tampos gathered 15 kukui keiki from the carnage of toppled kukui trees to take home and foster until such time that they could return to Holy Apostles. On Sunday, November 17, the plants were brought back, blessed, and replanted fronting the church property! (From the Holy Apostles e-news)
