Student readings of French-language poems of independence
All are invited to a reading of poems about independence published in French by poets from Haiti, Senegal, France, Martinique, Morocco, Algeria, and other French-speaking countries. Support the student readers (from FREN121, FREN206, and FREN330) or join in by participating in the event! Email Elizabeth Emery to sign up for a poem or just show up. Extra poems will be available and a booklet to allow the audience to follow along will be provided. This is an event held in conjunction with the Montclair250 celebrations.

Bridging Classroom, Community and Writing Practices
Temple University Professor Emeritus Eli Goldblatt will facilitate a thinking session about community engagement, writing, and teaching practices. Open to Writing Studies faculty as well as faculty beyond the department doing community engaged work. Faculty are encouraged to come with their project ideas (however early in development) to share for discussion.
