Veteran's Day Celebration

CHAPELS: WCA will host special Chapels on Nov 8th, the Wednesday before Veteran's Day. The Lower School Chapel will be led by Vietnam Veteran Steve Rusinko. Middle School Chapel will host Vietnam Veteran and Annapolis graduate Mark Mauriello, grandfather of Micah Roth.

RED, WHITE, AND BLUE DAY:

Students are asked to wear RED, WHITE, and BLUE for this special day.

WALL OF HONOR DISPLAY: All WCA students received handouts for interviewing a veteran or military service person. Completed interview sheets will be displayed on a Wall of Honor. All students will visit the display in honor of Veteran's Day. Thank you, students, for returning your completed interviews for display.

NOTE:

Completed interviews need to be returned by Friday, Nov 10.

DONATIONS: WCA will collect donations for the VA Hospital in Salisbury during the week of Nov 6 - 10. Veterans will appreciate art supplies, card games, puzzle books, note cards, and baking mixes. Collection bins will be in the main lobby.

Thank you for your student's participation in these special activities!

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

WCA is proud to participate in Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child ministry, providing an opportunity for WCA students to share the love of Jesus with children around the world, many of whom will learn about Jesus for the first time! Shoeboxes will be collected through Nov 16. #AllHeart

Get ready for a week filled with gratitude! Each day will be filled with Thanksgiving fun, including a daily spirit wear theme and gratitude or service activity. In the spirit of gratitude, we are also asking parents and friends to help sustain our mission by making a gift to the WCA Hawk Fund this week.

This annual campaign has helped support the school's operating expenses each year and has always played a vital role in ensuring the school's stability and sustainability.

Why We Give

Our WCA community has helped us support the mission and vision of our school by funding unique projects. Over the last year, we purchased a new set of classroom iPads and allocated funds to help equip the new WCA Annex. We also invest in the quarterly STEAM events created and developed by our staff to challenge the minds of our students. This year’s “Under the Sea” STEAM event was one such example. Educational space enhancements, activities, and events like these would not have been possible without your extremely generous and heartfelt donations.

We are coming to you again this year asking that you look into the future and help us dream even bigger. Please consider making a donation to our Hawk Fund during the Week of Giving. If your company has a matching program, please also consider filing the paperwork for that matching gift.
