A Letter from the Principal

Dear WCA Families,

At WCA, we are grateful for the brave men and women who have answered the call to serve our country. As Veterans Day approaches, we want to take a moment to honor their dedication, courage, and sacrifice.

Throughout the week, students will engage in activities and projects designed to recognize and celebrate our veterans. Displays will be set up throughout the school, allowing students and families to reflect on the importance of this special time. In addition, grade-level projects and veterans-themed chapels will provide meaningful opportunities for students to learn about and honor those who have served. Lower school students are encouraged to wear a red shirt on Tuesday in remembrance and celebration. 

We are also excited to close out the week with our Grandparents Day celebration on Friday at 9:00 a.m for grades first through fifth. During this event, students will present a melody of patriotic songs that celebrate both God and our country, highlighting the values of service, gratitude, and faith.

We look forward to sharing this week of remembrance and celebration with our students and families as we honor the heroes who have sacrificed for our freedom.

During our Week of Giving, we ask every WCA family to consider a gift to the Hawk Fund, our primary fundraising effort.

92% of WCA tuition payments are designated to cover the salaries of WCA staff. The Hawk Fund helps us cover other necessities so that our tuition can remain as low as possible. Over the years, the Hawk Fund has covered :

• Technology purchases and maintenance
• Educational technology subscriptions (e.g. IXL, iReady Math)
• STEAM curriculum
• Classroom needs
• Special projects

WCA is proud to support Operation Christmas Child. Boxes were sent home with students on Wednesday. Filled boxes are due Friday, Nov 21.

Coach's Notes

Our Winter Season officially kicked off last Thursday with our first high school boys' basketball game in school history. Although we weren't able to secure the victory, our young men played with phenomenal effort and toughness.

All three of our basketball teams will be in action this week. Our high school boys return to the court on Tuesday here at the Hawks Nest, while our middle school teams start their season that day on the road against rival Calvary Christian.

On Thursday, our middle school teams play again: the girls host Marvin Academy here at home, and the boys travel to Marvin Academy.
