HAWK TALK

Oct 14-18

WCA's Mission for the Mountains

Dear WCA families,

Thank you for your generous support of WCA's Mission for the Mountains. With your partnership, WCA sent a van packed full of practical and necessary items to meet critical needs of families in the Cove Creek community of Boone. That area was featured on WCNC news on Tuesday. This was a wonderful opportunity for students to be the hands and feet of Jesus, and to witness how God blesses our individual efforts to serve a greater good when we come together - each doing and giving as they are able.

Our prayers continue for our neighbors and communities in need, and for all serving to provide help and support. We also give thanks for each of you.

God has given each of you a gift from His great variety of spiritual gifts.

Use them well to serve others. - 1 Peter 4:10

Thank you for being a huge help for WCA's Mission for the Mountains service project. You moved donations of blankets, towels, diapers, bottled water, batteries, can openers and more to the Annex, sorted, organized, packed, and helped load the van.

What did it mean to you to be part of the Mission for the Mountatins project?

  • We got to help.
  • The donations will make a difference.
  • Seeing the community come together
  • Seeing our whole school work together as a community
  • Praying over the donations

FRESHMAN EVENTS

Freshmen Homecoming Week culminated with

a Fall Fest at Hunter Farm.

A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM PTF

At the WCA Talent Show last weekend, families enjoyed 17 performances highlighting the gifts of our 2nd through 6th graders and appreciated fall-themed art created by all our elementary school students.

Families also savored a spread of delicious treats contributed by parents and teachers for the Bake Sale.

Thanks to the generous donations and purchases from the Bake Sale, along with a contribution from our Freshman Homecoming event, PTF donated $827 to the Cove Creek School PTF for Hurricane Helene relief. Thank you to all our families for “using your gifts” to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those in the NC mountains.

We appreciate the families of WCA!
