HAWK TALK

Oct 7-11

WCA's Mission for the Mountains

Dear parents,

In an effort to be the hands and feet of Jesus, WCA is collecting items to address the immediate and critical needs in the Cove Creek School - a JK-8 school in Vilas, NC, near Boone.*   With neighbors in such great need, we want to give WCA students the opportunity to be servant leaders and #UseTheirGifts to serve others.

Below is the list for what each grade is collecting.

If you are able to donate, please send items to WCA by the end of the day on Monday, October 7th.

EC: band-aids and hairbrushes

JrK/K: Coloring books, crayons, card games

1st: Toothbrushes/toothpaste for adults and children

2nd: Flashlights

3rd: Children and adult medicines, contact solution,

chewable Benadryl

4th: Diapers and detergent

5th: Towel sets/blankets

6th: Towels sets/ washcloths

7th: Jugs of water (not bottles)

8th: Batteries

Freshmen: Diapers and Formula

Donations will be handed directly into the hands of the principal and staff of Cove Creek School...a school that will reopen in the wake of great loss. Our partnership with them, at the very least, will be a confident assurance that the hands and love of Christ are unwavering lifelines, tightly held, by the staff, students, and families at WCA.

In addition to donations, WCA staff and students are praying for all affected by the floods and those who are taking part in rescue and relief efforts.

Thank you for supporting these efforts with your prayers and donations.

*Updates can be found on Cove Creek School's website.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you;

I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

-Isaiah 41:10
