WCA STEAM Week will “ship” off Monday, September 11th,

and set anchor with Parents STEAM Night and Back-to-School Event

on Thursday, September 14

Oceans of the World is the theme for STEAM Week.  The Bible tells us about God’s creation of the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number - living things both large and small.

To help students dive deeper into knowledge about God’s creation, each grade level will be assigned a sea creature to use as their focus for learning, creating, and sharing through the special projects they'll make and display for Parents STEAM Night and Back-to-School Event.

WCA students will have an opportunity for experiential learning with a virtual field trip to the SC Aquarium.

Parents, mark you calendars and come “wade into the waters” with us and “sea” all grade-level projects at Parents STEAM Night and Back-to-School Event on Thursday, September 14.

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED for STEAM WEEK and the BOOK FAIR that begins Sep 14. Please use the link below to sign up.

To help keep our carpool line moving smoothly:

  • Display your carpool sign so it can be easily seen.

Signs are not visible laying on the dashboard.

  • Keep your sign visible until your child is loaded into your vehicle.

Your assistance will be appreciated.

Please join us Tuesday, Sep 5,

after morning carpool for

September's PTF Meeting.

We will share ideas and make plans

for upcoming PTF events.

Being part of PTF is a great way to get involved and meet other WCA parents and families. Volunteers participate in many ways. They can help in person at school events, serve with projects they do at home, and help with resources and supplies - whatever works best for them!

We'd love for you to join us

and hope to see you Tuesday morning!

Over $570 dollars have been raised for the Hawks Athletic Fund through the sale of Spirit Wear items. The 30% discount continues until Sep 14. Be sure to take advantage of this great sale!

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart,

as working for the Lord and not for men. - Colossians 3:23

WCA's Fall Sports teams are off to an awesome start!

SOCCER: WCA's Soccer team had their first match against Lee Park, last year’s conference champions, and played very well. It was a hot afternoon so with only one substitution available, most of the players ran for an hour with limited rest. The team pushed through the fatigue, playing some steady defense, shared the ball well, put a number of shots on goal and two in the back of the net. Lee Park won the match 5-2, but the Hawks made them work for it. We line up next at Fletcher, September 7 at 4:00, and at Covenant Classical, Sept. 8 at 4:00.

CROSS COUNTRY: WCA looked strong at their first meet of the season, the Carolinas Kickoff, at Metrolina Christian on Saturday, Aug. 26. Two of our athletes won medals in the elementary divisions. Noah Koerner was 14th in the boys, Riley Morris was 15th in the girls.

At Covenant Classical, on August 29, our girls team finished third in their race, with Elizabeth Potter finishing in second place overall. Cam Meadows was our top WCA male athlete, finishing 9th in his division.

Congrats to all!
