Now that the semester is in full swing, we know that research papers will be due! The SSC Librarians are standing by to help you find all of the credible sources you’ll need to create that perfect research project! We have two EASY ways to connect with our Librarians. The first thing you’ll want to do is go to the Library website. You can find that link here: https://virtual.yccc.edu/library
1. Our LIVE CHAT! You can find that right in the middle of the home page, and it is staffed Monday through Friday from 9 am to 11 am and 1 pm to 3 pm. The live chat is perfect for quick questions such as password questions. If you are requesting database password information, please make sure to include your student ID number. We are only allowed to share database passwords with YC students.
2. The “Ask Us” tab on the right hand side of the Library website. This is a great place to ask more in depth research questions like: "I can't find anything on feline leukemia" or “I am doing a paper on climate change, where can I find articles?” If you have been searching for credible sources for a project for more than 15 minutes—STOP! Get help from a YCCC Librarian. They can help you locate the PERFECT sources for any research project.
3. Seeking scholarly research from home? We’ve got you covered! When starting a search from home, you will be asked for the YCCC Library’s easy username and password (all lower case):
Username: student
Password: yccc
Again, if you need to contact a Librarian (either using the Live Chat or the Ask Us tab) to get the log in information, make sure you include your student ID number as passwords can only be given to YCCC students.
As a reminder, we have started weekly Noodlebib workshops (see more information below) to help you create that perfect bibliography for your research project. You will find the ZOOM links to those drop in events on the Library home page: https://virtual.yccc.edu/library
