President's Note
Can you imagine flying a kite in that wind we had Friday? I can't decide if it would've been out-of-control fun or just plain out-of-control. Either way, we're getting another shot at it on Monday! That means you still have time to find a kite and - most important part here - get it assembled before your student brings it with them at drop off in the morning.

Our spirit wear store is still open this week! All your purchases will be delivered to the school and sent home with your students a few weeks after the store closes. The link to purchase is HERE. Happy shopping!

School Board News
Huntsville City Schools Board Representatives, Holly McCarty & Ryan Renaud and City of Huntsville, Alabama - Government Council Representatives, David Little & Bill Kling invite everyone to a District 2 & 4 joint town hall meeting.

This public forum will be held on March 6th, at 5:30pm, in the HHS Freshman Academy.

Spirit Wear News
Purchase your spring HCES spirit wear HERE. It will take our vendor a couple of weeks to get all the orders ready once the store is closed. Then everything will be delivered to the school and sent home with your oldest student.

Kite Day News - Now Happening on MONDAY!
There's still time to find a kite! But it needs to be brought to school already assembled. Our Kite Assembly Crew set aside all Thursday afternoon to have the previously-brought-in kites ready and will be enjoying flying kites with their kiddos on Monday.

5th Grade Parent News
PLEASE SEND PHOTOS FOR 5TH GRADE BRIDGING CEREMONY
May 22, 2023 (8:30AM, Cafeteria)
We will play a slideshow/video during the Bridging Ceremony that will include photos from the 5th graders' years at HCES. Parents and teachers are asked to submit photos for the slideshow via email to hces.ptaevents.5thgradebridge@gmail.com.

In a crazy calendar twist thanks to Spring Break, we had another Happy Cart on Thursday. The school was pleasantly surprised! Thank you to Crystin Burton, Deb Burton, and Leslie Townsend for helping everyone get through a sleepy morning after all the weather Wednesday night. I bet y'all didn't have a single Frappuccino left!
Community Partner Spotlight
Mathnasium of Huntsville is your Math Learning Center to aid students in the field of Math -- from foundational math in 2nd grade of add/subtract/multiply/divide/fractions... to 12th grade Calculus, Geometry, Trig, Algebra, Probability and Statistics.

YOUR students' success is our success. Our instructors have a gamut of backgrounds from  Mathematicians, Engineers & Physics to Systems Engineers.

We tailor the lesson plan to GROW and IMPROVE...Students on AVERAGE after a 3-6 month membership INCREASE math grades 5-10 points.
