President's Note


Congratulations to our awesome school!  We have now received TWO national recognitions this year, PTA School of Excellence and National Blue Ribbon School recognized as an exemplary high performing school.  Way to go HCES!!
 
We have duty free lunches on Wednesday and Thursday this week.  If you can volunteer during school hours, please check out the October library sign up, I know they appreciate any help.  I hope everyone enjoys these last few days before Fall Break.  Here's hoping we get some fall weather soon!

Special Request


The office needs extra clothes for boys and girls, specifically pants and shorts.  They have plenty of shirts, but are in need of pants/shorts in all sizes.  They keep these extra clothes in the office in case a child needs a change of clothes during the day.  If you have any pants/shorts to donate, please send them to the front office.  
 
Box Tops Class Winner
Congrats to Ms. Hoven's class for winning the box tops contest.  Her class enjoyed a popsicle party on the playground Friday during recess.  Keep clipping for the next contest!


 
Amazon Smile

Did you know you can help our school just by shopping on Amazon Smile?  You can still use your Prime account, you just shop through the Smile app instead of the regular Amazon app.  Select Hampton Cove Elementary School PTA as your designated charity.  You get the same great benefits AND help our school! Purchases made through the regular Amazon app or the amazon website do NOT count towards Smile purchases.  To help our schools, you must purchase through the Smile app or icon, as explained below.  Please make this small change to help our school!

Android users:  
If you are an AmazonSmile customer, you can now support Hampton Cove Elementary PTA in the Amazon shopping app on your Android device! Simply follow these instructions to turn on AmazonSmile and start generating donations.
  1. If you have the latest version of the Amazon Shopping App, open the App on your Android device.
  2. View Settings and select AmazonSmile.
  3. Follow the in-App instructions to complete the process
iPhone users:
There is not currently an app for download, but you can create your own "app" shortcut.  From the safari browser search Amazon Smile.  Once the page opens, hit the up arrow button at the bottom (as if you were uploading a photo to FB or Insta) and select Add to Home Screen.  That puts the Amazon Smile icon right on your phone just as an app, just click on the icon and SHOP while helping our school!

Reflections

Reflections submissions deadline is 10/25/19

Reflections Official rules and How to Enter information was sent out in Wednesday folders. Entry forms are in the front office and can be filled out when the entries are turned in. Any questions, please contact Louise Graffeo at  [email protected] or Stephanie O'Neal at  [email protected]

This year's Reflections theme is "Look Within"
Students may enter multiple times within a category.  Students may also enter multiple categories.  
The six categories are: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts
  
 
Library Volunteers for October


The sign up for October library volunteers still has some available shifts.  Most important are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Friday mornings, since our library aide isn't there those days.  Volunteers scan the books out to the students, check books in and shelve the books as time permits.  Please consider working a shift in our library.  Click HERE to sign up.

Breakfast / Lunch Menus


Breakfast and Lunch menus can be found on the Huntsville City Schools website under Child Nutrition.  Link here.


Menus can also be accessed via the EZSchoolLunch app you can download to your phone or device. The icon is white.  Search for Hampton Cove MIDDLE school, Hampton Cove, Alabama.  Technically the cafeteria is considered part of the middle school, so searching for HCES will show no results.
 

There is also an EZSchoolPay app which lets you track your students lunch account.  You can see what they purchase, set a lunch balance notification, and add money to the account.  The icon for this app is orange
