 CALLING 5th GRADE Parents

We are seeking volunteers to lead a VERY important tradition at HCES.

Maypole ~ we need a parent to come to PE and teach the kids the dance.  There are so many YouTube videos that show the steps, this would be a FUN way to get involved and help carry on this tradition.  Ms. Holladay has retired, and she always taught the students the steps during PE, so if we want to keep this tradition alive, we need a parent to step in and help our new PE coaches this year!  Check out this YouTube link to see how fun and easy it is!   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sq3s5bk7nno

Typically the students vote on the last song played, and choose something upbeat and fun.  Most of our 5th grade teachers have participated in this before and I am sure they have a lot of helpful information!  Please email us at hcespta01@gmail.com if you would like to help out with this event.
 Newcomers Meet and Greet

We invite parents of all new students, and anyone who is interested in helping us say hello to our new families, to join the PTA Board and Principals in the library on
Wednesday morning, February 26, 2020 at 8 amWe just want to take a chance to get to know new faces, to extend some HCES Hawk Pride, and to answer any questions you may have.  Transitioning to a new school mid-year can be tough, and we want to know how we can help make it better!  Everyone is welcome, so come chat with us!
 SEND IN YOUR BOXTOPS

We are collecting our last round of clipped box tops.  Please send them in to the PTA mailbox this week.  Thank you for your support and don't forget to now be scanning your receipts for box top credit!!
Hawk Hustle

We are excited to announce that the Hawk Hustle color run will occur on March 18.   We have extended to deadline to order the t-shirts to this Friday, March 28.   Please visit HERE to order.  You may also order by cash or check.  Please put cash or check in the PTA box with your child's name and teacher and sizing information.  We are also offering adult sizes for parents that want to run with their child.

The Hawk Hustle is  taking the place of the previous Fun Run fundraiser.  The Hawk Hustle is being organized by a group of parent volunteers to raise funds for the PTA to pay for many critical items for our school.  Look for all of the information in your child's Wednesday Folder on March 4.

Library Volunteers

The sign up for library volunteers is up. Most important are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Friday mornings, since our library aide isn't there those days.  Volunteers scan the books out to the students, check books in and shelve the books as time permits.  Please consider working a shift in our library.
Please note - if you can only work a portion of the shift listed, that is ok.  We appreciate all the help we can get!
