At the beginning of the year, PTA provided most teachers/staff with a 1/2 case of paper. Because of that purchase, our teachers were paper-prepared when the move to packets came up. PTA has purchased an additional 1/2 case for those teachers/staff again this week to help replenish their supply. We are also opening an Amazon wish list so parents can order paper to be delivered directly to the school. Currently, the wish list only has paper. Other items, such as wipes, tissues, etc, may be added as needed.

Dream Architecture 2021
Dream Architecture is a yearly contest sponsored by the Alabama Center for Architecture, with local architecture firms providing additional sponsorship for the Huntsville contest. This year, students are encouraged to design and draw their DREAM RESTAURANT. This free contest is open to all elementary students in the Huntsville area. The deadline to turn the artwork in at school is March 17. Here is a link the contest website: https://www.alcfa.org/hsv-dreamarchitecture/ You can find an ETA lesson explaining the contest here: Schoology->Homeroom Teacher course-> ETA folder->Recorded Lessons-> Jan. 11-15 Lesson. I have also put 2 additional documents in Schoology. One is the official poster for the contest that has essential information, and the other is the entry form that should be attached to the back of the artwork when submitted for the contest. If your child is working from home, you may bring his/her artwork to school by March 17th and I will turn it in, or you may mail it directly to the address listed on the information poster. Last year, a Hampton Cove student won first place in the fourth-grade category and he received a prize package containing architecture toys, art supplies, and books! Please email me with any questions.

We wanted to take a quick moment to let you know how PTA has supported our school and staff so far this year. Your donations, membership, spirit wear orders and spirit night support has helped us support HCES in the following ways:
- $100 allotment to every classroom and specials teacher
- Full funding for the HCES district copier costs from 19-20
- Back to school breakfast and a sweet treat prior to the Thanksgiving break, along with the Happy Cart in October
- 1st grade reading program charms
- PTA memberships to all certified staff members
- Gaga Ball Pit construction and extra materials such as landscaping paper and sand
- teachers/staff will receive a full case of paper in total. A 1/2 case was purchased at the beginning of the year, and an additional 1/2 case purchased in Jan.
We hope to bring back programs and events as allowed.

HCES Families,
We are introducing our new HAWK PRIDE program!
Hawk Pride is the main fundraiser for the HCES PTA. We strive to hold multiple events for the students throughout the year (Glow Dance, Spring Fling, and more) as well as cover expenses for HCES such as classroom supply funds, HCTV, library books, AR celebrations, Parade of Readers, STEAM Night, Reading Night, supplies for art, music, and PE classes, and bulk copies made by our teachers under the HCS copier contract. Some of these events are currently on our school calendar, and we are hoping (fingers crossed!) to add a few new, family-oriented events to make up for those that might not be possible due to COVID restrictions. Stay tuned!
Please join the Hawk Pride program through the shopping link on your HCES MemberHub page or via this direct link:
All monies raised through your Hawk Pride donation will directly support our PTA General Budget. For each donation, you will receive one car magnet as pictured above, to show your Hawk Pride!
