President's Note


Welcome back from Fall Break! I hope everyone enjoyed their week off and maybe spent a few minutes locating those jackets for our chilly mornings!  We are gearing up for our Trunk or Treat event.  We need volunteers willing to host trunks.  If you or someone you know is interested, please follow the links below.  If you can't host, you can help by sending in candy donations to supplement those who do host trunks.

The Reflections deadline is fast approaching.  If your student would like to make a submission the forms and submission box are available in the front office.

Trunk or Treat & We need CANDY!!




We need CANDY, CANDY, CANDY to help supplement our Trunk or Treat event.  Donation boxes will be in the lobby and you can send bags of candy in with your child or drop them off in the lobby anytime.  

Also, we still need volunteers to host a Trunk.  You can sign up HERE




We have been hard at work over Fall Break to update our newsletter database.  We removed over 1200 contacts who it appears were not receiving the newsletter and reorganized how the contacts were grouped together. We tried very hard to ensure that our current parents were not impacted by this update. However, if you notice that, for some reason, your information was changed, or you no longer receive the newsletter, you can always subscribe again!  Click HERE to sign up for Hawk Talk.  As always, if you have problems with the newsletter, feel free to email [email protected] and we will help you out or add you manually.

 
Mother/Son Amazing Race

We had so much fun at the Mother/Son Race!  Congratulations to Owen Hale and mom Laura for taking 1st Place!  Josh Berkholtz and mom Jessica placed 2nd and Evan Parker and mom Sonia took 3rd place!  Jack Meko and mom Jan took home the Best Costume award and the Best Hawk Drawing award went to Sam Pearsall.  Thanks to everyone who braved the heat and came out to enjoy the fun!  
 






 
Reflections

Reflections submissions deadline is 10/25/19

Reflections Official rules and How to Enter information was sent out in Wednesday folders. Entry forms are in the front office and can be filled out when the entries are turned in. Any questions, please contact Louise Graffeo at  [email protected] or Stephanie O'Neal at  [email protected]

This year's Reflections theme is "Look Within"
Students may enter multiple times within a category.  Students may also enter multiple categories.  
The six categories are: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts
  
 
Library Volunteers for October


The sign up for October library volunteers still has some available shifts.  Most important are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Friday mornings, since our library aide isn't there those days.  Volunteers scan the books out to the students, check books in and shelve the books as time permits.  Please consider working a shift in our library.  Click HERE to sign up.

Menus can also be accessed via the EZSchoolLunch app you can download to your phone or device. The icon is white.  Search for Hampton Cove MIDDLE school, Hampton Cove, Alabama.  Technically the cafeteria is considered part of the middle school, so searching for HCES will show no results.
 

There is also an EZSchoolPay app which lets you track your students lunch account.  You can see what they purchase, set a lunch balance notification, and add money to the account.  The icon for this app is orange
